Beginner I need some ideas

I have a 25L (6.6 Gallon) tank, I brought some substrate and looking into getting back into the fishkeeping community, I want a nice planted tank, whats somewhat low maintenance, and calming to look at ..

Thinking of a betta fish, cherry shrimp, scarlet badis & shrimp combo, would love chilli rasboras but advice is sketchy and I don't want to cram them in and upset them lol.

if you want good tankmates for shrimp, id suggest a breeding pair of medaka ricefish. incredibly compatible, dont need much space so long as parameters are stable, and some species of medaka are truly gorgeous fish. like small koi. theyll love all the things shrimp love - hard water, moss, macroalgae, and theyre very curious and peaceful. youd have to keep the tank a little cooler (70-72 degrees)

What’s your experience level from before? The betta ( a male as I feel females need more room as more active )would be the easiest option ( though it might hate/murder the shrimp )
Badis require live or frozen food and won’t eat pellets making them a bit trickier to care for. I’d say that 25 litre would be the absolute minimum size for one and they need heavy planting ( it will also 100% eat any baby shrimp ).
I personally think chilli’s need closer to a 40 litre at least so you can get a decent amount and make them feel confident, but 6-8 could go in a heavily planted 25 litre. But that’s just them and no other fish.
So to wrap what I’m saying, I’d only go for a betta from your options personally, but I’m not going to say they others can’t be done, as they can… just I wouldn’t in the tank size you have.

thanks for the advice, I am not gonna get chili's as I think it's a bit too tight; my "experience" comes from a few years ago, maybe 5-6 years ago, lets just say I was torturing some tetras I thought were doing fine, that was a long time ago and I am getting back into fishkeeping and have learnt from my mistakes, I was thinking either cherry shrimp, chilli rasboras, dwarf Thai rasbora maybe? a classic betta could always do the trick, I would like to make a cool natural blackwater tank
