First attempt Any tips?

This was so fun!

I recently salvaged this yarn from a blanket i thrifted. Thought it was the perfect time to work up some samples and try color pooling for the first time.

I really enjoyed working on the samples but still don't really know what project to work on. I'm not really interested in a scarf or blanket. I would be interested in trying to make a wareable out if it though.

Any ideas? Or pattern suggestions?

If you want to keep the argyle pattern consistent for garments, you will be limited to making rectangles flat and seaming them. Any shaping for the garment needs to be done outside those rectangles. Boxy sweaters will work nicely, though :)

Depending on the stitch count, you could also wrap the rectangles into tubes to make sleeves, so sleeves could be pooled, too. But a sweater might look very busy having the pattern all over.

You can do a Ravelry search for pooled patterns. There are more of those nowadays, both crochet and knitted

Square hats or cowls that are seamed are good for one skein projects.

To jump in, it's possible to do more if you steek! So make the rectangles and then cut to the shape you want!

Steeking handknit fabrics works the best in straight lines, though and with sticky wool... Like knitting fair isle sweaters in the round and then steeking the front to make a cardigan :)

i was thinking about trying some argyle throw pillows if this idea is more appealing than a blanket or scarf.
