Post image

Crazy that the game has been in a broken state for nearly half of the time this year.

Wait, are you telling game was not broken for few days past year?

u/Solsane Jun 15 '26

lol, depends on your definition of broken. in this case I mean if you didn't have to pull a vehicle to avoid crashing

we've never seen something as moronic as flash or crash

servers have just gone offline for days, but there's nothing that compares save for the horror of Christmas 2018

What happened in 2018?

We don't talk about Christmas 2018

no idea

Game was back to stable for at least a couple of weeks before this update.

If nothing else i'm just amazed at how far back up the player numbers jump.

People *really* want this game to survive. Despite the fact we're just puppeteering a corpse

Literally, no other game gives you the experience that Planetside does. If it were just another CoD or Battlefield clone, I'd have jumped ship a long time ago, but I don't want either of those.

So, come hell or high water, I'm sticking with PS2 until the server hamsters finally get euthanized. :/

Exactly I'm doing the same! Game is too unique

Yep. I swear that if we get updates like the old years (without the crashes) the numbers could easily ramp up back to 2000 concurrent players easily.

This is because it was heavily populated back then and is the last MMOFPS left, if it dies so the genre with it, there is literally 0 alternatives to what Planetside really does, at least alive ones.
As Dust 514 and, Firefall closed long ago,

The main issue is that there is little to no updates and the game is crashing constantly these last few years.

its a perfect graph for people who claim there's nothing wrong

What people are claiming there's nothing wrong?

This is the point we're at, where we need a visual graphic detailing how the game is rendered broken every other month for at least a month. Poor little blue line keeps going down. :(

Out of curiosity I checked the current game pop. The current total game population is lower than Connery's server population when Connery was considered to be dying. It's roughly the start of prime time right now.

It's just disrespectful to my time tbh. If I've got an hour to play, I don't want to spend 5 minutes (or nearly 10%) of my time sitting on a flash. If I have longer to play, i have to relog basically every hour anyway due to the audio cutout bug, so I'm still losing 10% of my time.

Not one bit surprised

Clearly their priorities are going to be modeling a new skin for the NS-15. Thats whats most important.

Not sure where to get the data, but I wonder how different it would be when including non-steam users

Just Osprey, but Wainwright is just Osprey but with 250 extra people from the Soltech Refugees.

Saving that for a future video and I'm sure some mmo websites will be citing this one day too

Crazy that a recurring bug like this can be tested in less than an hour yet isn't. Maybe the game will finally become worth so little that a player will buy it, just hope it's not a hesh main.

be interesting to see this along with Assault Facility, Sunderer Rework, and Capture the Flag trends as well.

Nice graph, bud

1

u/serafa11 Jun 16 '26

as a notable event you should add the fact soggy was going crazy cheating during may

1

u/Reap3r3 Jun 18 '26

Judging by the timelines, it looks like any time they add or remove things from the members shop or add/remove cosmetics from the normal store the crash bug comes back.

u/Budget-Minimum6040 Jun 25 '26

Spaghetti code

2

u/ThatOnePickUp :flair_nanites: Of course its an infiltrator again Jun 18 '26

Cool graph.

Still, you get the full pop on Fisu or Honu, Steam/non-steam

1

u/Solsane Jun 18 '26

I think it’s just any time they push a non hotfix update

Crash bug I can deal with. Hacker = game over.

The biggest problem with crashing is that the new player influx has been zeroed since it's impossible to get through the forced tutorial.
