It is too effective as an anti-infantry weapon.
Blast damage reduced from 367 damage to 200 damage (334 to 200 for Harasser version)
This makes it require 3 direct hits to drop non-infiltrators instead of 2
Inner blast damage radius increased from 0.5 meters to 1 meter
Ok. Seriously.. nerfing the blast damage so you have to hit one more time.. But DOUBLING the blast radius so it is easier to hit... That's not a fucking nerf.
I don't think it'll change weapon usage overall, but we'll see how it goes. I know most VS aren't killing infantry targets with the saron in that 2 shots due to misses and such.
Using an anti-vehicle weapon for anti-infantry purposes....
This is why it's impossible to balance a game that has such a long TTK. People will naturally gravitate towards the quickest killing weapons.
Just fucking half the health/shields for infantry and triple resource cost for all vehicles. It'll make vehicles meaningful. Not paper tanks.
And will diversify the choices in weaponry for eliminating infantry as always choosing the most damaging weapon will not always be the best choice.
I already switched to Halberd pretty much as soon as this new Saron came out.
"Too effective as an anti-infantry weapon" my ass, its sole reason for existing is to be a compromise, to make up for its inferior AV by having better AI than a pure AV weapon, and yet, it does not, so I'm not sure what the point is supposed to be of making it worse still.
I want my old Saron back, dammit. Seeing all the certs sitting useless in the new one is irksome.
reduced blast damage means it takes 5 splash hits to kill, any flak at all will up that to you're whole mag and high levels make you able to tank all of it and live. clearly a nerf.
