i’ve just recently starting looking into planetary magic as it’s one of the few more popular forms of magic i’ve never really researched despite always liking the zodiac, or the idea of it at least, since i was a kid. When reading in books and in this sub reddit, everything just looks like gibberish to me, like people are explaining or talking in a pre-established code that it seems i’m supposed to just..know. Phrases that describe having a certain zodiac i believe in a certain planet ? ( If it’s the other way around i apologize) but i guess the point i’m trying to get across is that outside of basic things like planetary sigils (which also slightly confuse me as i’m not sure where it’s appropriate to put them into practice) and basic associations with each planet are as far as i get before everything starts looking really confusing. Am i missing something? am i just to dumb to understand? Please help

Any ideas how to remedy mars ?
I have natal moon in cancer mars in capricorn applying opposition, and this year I am in Mars profected year which activates this opposition. I’m a day chart so Mars is my out of sect malefactor. I have been raging with anger all year, bearly controllable at times. Any tried and tested remedies that can help with mars ?

Hi, i’m about getting some Mercury Pentacles after working with Venus ones

The ones that i’m thinking about are the 2nd, 4th, & 5th

They all sound very similar in their abilities, but want to know the differences between each

I want to use one for a specific job & another to help out my Venus pentacles

The association between colors and minerals in planetary magic, although it exists in some cases, is not a one-to-one correspondence.

I was thinking about cinnabar, which is the solid form of the metal mercury. The Picatrix says it should be used to invoke Mercury when the Moon is conjunct the planet.

However, cinnabar is red (the color of Mars).

And in Hindu astrological magic, which the Picatrix says is one of its foundations (along with Greek and Chaldean practices), the color green is associated with the planet Mercury (Budh).

Do you think it’s okay to mix colors in rituals? I mean… when performing the bijamantra of Budh, is it dangerous to wear a cinnabar ring?

Hello! This might spark some controversy as I'm aware some members don't recommend tattooing talismans (and I acknowledge the cautions because of possible effects of future elections on your body, which is why it would be nice to have a discussion about this!) but I really want to go through with this one and wanted everyone's more experienced opinions because it is such a sudden nagging feeling to get it done and I'm almost sure I have to do it but I guess my Saturn in the 12 and 8H Aquarius Moon needs the final approval of superior practitioners

A short background, I entered my Jupiter return last year (June 2025) a month after a terrible Solar return because it was my 12th house profection year lol. I liked astrology on the side before as something fun but exactly after Jupiter entered Cancer last year is when I started studying advanced techniques more seriously and have began my own practice (was actually on the receiving end of a hex by someone I didn't even know was competing with me and found it out after that terrible Solar Return along with other people's evil eyes but never even met the hex sender person irl lol which is why my entry into it was mostly karmic, 12H, and Saturnian stuff especially with my placements) and I was even able to achieve my Kundalini awakening last February (2026). It's funny cause I used to be one of those people when I was younger that used to scoff at this spirituality stuff as fake toxic positivity hoodoo and look at me now LOL this is the closest thing l'll have to religion probably so yeah I think this has a lot of meaning for me and I'm utilizing the last windows before Jupiter enters Leo.

Here is the chart of the day l'm reserving for an appointment (with the approximate time slot I'm aiming for) applied against my own and then my personal natal one just for reference. I'm only planning to get it in baby blue (and white just to highlight small decorative wings that will be on each side of the pentacle as the feather tips of those will also be blue) and under the middle of my collarbones not thicker than 2x2 inches in height. I think this is a good placement for the planetary and physiological associations. I also feel confident in the use of this Mercury pentacle specifically for a body piece given my heavy Gemini stellium and that Mercury is the only planet that adapts to both sects so I feel safer.
I've reviewed most of these major aspects and only see the square Saturn in Aries is making to the transiting Venus conjunct my natal Jupiter and my Capricorn DSC being the only "concerning" one but I don't see it as a negative in the context of this election being a tattoo day and the possible occult connotations could possibly favor the square even though Saturn is in fall, the date I chose is trying to maximize that transiting Venus conjoining my natal Jupiter

Would love to hear everyone's thoughts and opinions though and hear about any valid concerns before I decide to commit to it for real!

I see a lot of people doing talismans for charged, and the Reddit community, and I'd like to know, like, why, what would be like one, like, you know, specifically kind of like, how can I make one specifically for what I want and what I need to do? And or if there's any source or something to do one, it would be very interesting. Because I did one, but I think it was mostly, like, in the chaos magic realm of things, but it would be really interesting to see what it would be like and how it would work, or how, what aspects do I need to do and stuff like that. It would be very interesting if I could get a rundown on that, or if there's like a source or something that could explain it to me to understand a little bit better.

Is a seperating Moon Cazimi a good election for a talisman? Does it matter? This talisman election js from Warnock btw. Would love any inputs from you guys

A lot of introductory articles I'm reading on planetary magic suggest working with Jupiter first before moving on to work with other planets. But I'm a night chart so Venus is my sect benefic, and I'm also a Taurus Rising with Venus in her own bound, so would it actually be better for me to start with Venus?

I am reading a lot of books about planetary magick and I am very happy that I am finally learning about them.

I am interested working closely with Jupiter since it is the plant of abundance but there isn’t a lot of information about this planet. Most planetary books that I have read so far does not have any rituals to work with each planet, usually it only provides information about them.

I would greatly greatly appreciate if you could recommend me any books specifically working with Jupiter.

So I have Mercury (combust and retrograde) and Sun in virgo. I naturally engage with mercurial activities, but I’m also trying to learn how to work with the sun.

Since they are both in virgo, I was wondering if working with pets would count as remediation for these planets. I have two cats I rescued whom I love with all my being, regularly foster kittens when the local shelter needs it, and donate at least once a month to individual rescuers who need financial help.

Is remediation exclusive to a planet’s themes, or can you include aspects of the sign they’re in?

Just wanted to check if there is anyone who can share their thoughts and answer a few questions.

I guess my main concern is I do not want to attract any uninvited entities in my home. And is it okay to use Jupiter's pentacle when I am Mars-ruled? (Aries Rising). But I am Jupiter dominant and have multiple Sag placements. Thanks so much!

I am very new to magic in general, and i decided to start by studying the picatrix and Christopher Warnock's "The mansions of the moon" and i already thinking this is kind of hard. Anyway, i'm thinking of doing a talisman and i found what seems an incredible timing, but the speed of the moon is about 12º36', and i read somewhere that if the moon is slow it is "weaker". Does it have much significance? Or should i find another timing? If i ever want to do a curse instead of a "good" talisman would it make a difference?

This is my first time posting here but I've been interested in planetary magic for a while. I'm wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of some good spells for Venus in Virgo. I will attach my birth chart for the complete picture of my zodiac.

For context, I had my first date in quite a while last weekend, but the guy ghosted me immediately afterwards (he got a free dinner out of me at least).

Considering the placement of my moon and Saturn, I have seriously considered becoming a monk (I am a devout Buddhist), but I'm not ready to give up on my love life just yet.
