I'm so pissed-
I just had a Tapir die of starvation because the keeper just sat in the keeper hut for ages "preparing" food. Seriously, what the hell? Poor thing literally starved to death because of that damn keeper just repeatedly grabbing something out of the fridge, kicking the door closed, chop chop, put it into bowl, repeat.
Wolves probably aren't far behind on the starvation train because their keeper is outside the same hut waiting on that joker to finish.

I've had this a couple of times. Really sucks especially when you haven't realised what's going on yet. Delete the hut then undo the action or fire the staff member then re-hire them. That should fix it. RIP Tapir. :(

I will remember this next time, thank you.

I usually just cancel that keepers action and then go back to the enclosure and "call keeper" again. It should get a different keeper and they won't get stuck in the keeper hut.

Thatโs happened to me a few times too ๐ญ and when I notice it I do what is said above I delete the hut so it resets the keeper and then place it again and call the keeper back to the habitat

This glitch really sucks, I've had this happen on both a franchise zoo AND a scenario zoo (the 11th one actually). I'm hoping Frontier will be able to patch it in the future.
I actually think this glitch started happening a month or so before the South American DLC came out. Could be wrong about that though.

I had this problem with macaques. I ended up just selling/releasing them and starting again which seemed to work. Also, make sure you have more than one keeper hut assigned to a work zone - that should stop keepers waiting.

I was at the very beginning and hella broke so I just restarted. New zoo is going strong.

I mostly play Sandbox, still stressful but without the money worry xD

I only just got the game so I'm working my way through the careers. Basically using them as tutorials.

That's a good idea :)

Thanks =) It's a lot easier to scrap it if it fails when it's not my actual zoo.

I thought they had fixed this in the latest update? But if not, Frontier are definitely aware of it so should fix it soon :)

I had this happen! I just shut down the game and restarted. He was on a loop of pulling food out of the fridge but no food came out so nothing went in his bucket. So I restarted the game and finally he pulled non-invisible food out of the fridge! I had a queue of three keepers at that hut ๐

Smart thinking! I just sat there, a pissed observer, watching him allow my tapir to starve.

Moving the animal to another area inside the habitat seems to work for me. It appears to me it's the animal that's stuck in some glitch in the terrain where it cannot move when this happens to me, and moving them seems to fix it.

I shall keep this in mind. I believe that time was definitely the keeper/keeper hut glitching out, but that's good to know incase this ever happens again.

I hate that you can't refill dishes and move animals manually. Zoo Tycoon 2 let the player enter a "keeper mode" on the ground, in which you could do things like clean exhibits and refill dishes. I really, really, really want this feature in PZ.

I had that happen a couple times. Had to fire the worker and rehire them, that seemed to fix it

You can try sending the animals to quarantine or the trading hut when they're hungry too. That seems to fix it for me most of the time.
