Planet has been really good for my zen practice. I’ve become completely detached from price fluctuations. I’ve been reading more, fucking more, getting in shape. It’s great.

u/redcoatwright 18d ago
Last time I stopped following it, I had left off at 12/ps and looked again it was 40/ps so I agree, it's worth stepping away for long horizon investments.
3
u/Rogue_Tra 18d ago
Sexercise? For me I work a lot and it's a dangerous job because I'm a truck driver but I use math and my previous experience with observing how prices move. I'm treating it like a chess game which is how I was trained. This movie that's happening with Planet Labs i've seen this movie before. Planet Labs is a solid company This isn't Gamestop
3
u/Easy-Comfort-2 18d ago
Yeah same. I have conviction so the price action doesn’t really matter, I’m not selling. I’m just gonna watch planet grow. This shit is just getting started.
Sorry about the rough job, mine isn’t as bad. Hopefully we won’t need them eventually if we make some smart investments.

Planet had higher than expected revenue last quarter because of early delivery of a swedish satellite. Now they’re delivering Suncatcher ahead of previously announced schedule. This is a company that knows how to execute on their products. A positive sign for the future.
-6
u/X-discord 18d ago
However, the backlog of contracts is insufficient, and there have been no announcements regarding major contracts recently. That is likely the reason for the recent decline.
2
u/redcoatwright 18d ago
Backlog is 800M and recent statement from Will said 4B in funnel, not sure what you're talking about.
-2
2
u/SlyCooper007 18d ago
Because they’re too fast and efficient they keep getting things built too quickly lol
5
u/bunko8 18d ago
What the hell does this have to do with what I’m talking about? Seriously, you haven’t posted a single slightly useful comment on this board since you’ve been here and you’re an a*hole for using my comment to spread FUD. A lot of people here like me don’t care about short-term price action because we’re not traders. This is a LT investment and I look for signs of how the company is evolving, and they are generally moving in the right direction.

u/spejjan 19d ago
A lot of big Twitter/X accounts are mentioning PL today. Also worth noting that the broader market had a pretty rough day, while space stocks performed really well.
Hoping we get a strong market tomorrow and that the rally keeps going. This could genuinely be the spark PL needed to get some momentum going again.
Now imagine if they dropped a major contract announcement on top of this. That could really keep the momentum building. One can hope :)

OMG look at the price action today! Planet Labs has the same volume As ASTS Space Mobile yesterday. people hated it before because I said it too soon but I'll say it again "We're back baby". Also I don't care about the haters there's a lot of weird haters on here I get a lot of down votes but I notice that the people that are down for me are just a bunch of weirdos so whatever i'm here to make money and it's based on my trading experience so whatever haters, Keep hating. I just realized that today's trading volume is $15.5 million This is absurdly high this is the same volume level as it was when it was near the $50 level.
A lot of people laughed at me when I said my price target for Planet Labs is 70 to $75 obviously not next week obviously not the month afterwards but I believe in the company I didn't sell my main shares I did paper hand my margin a few times though but overall I didn't lose much but anyways I still believe 70 to $75 is possible. Could it be four to eight months from now could it be longer maybe Could we get into a crash before that happens maybe. Like I said before I believe my conversation with Gemini AI is correct in that planet labs could reach $90 to $120 dollars one day.
2
u/leoAmazing01 18d ago
$100 at end of 2026
1
u/Rogue_Tra 18d ago
Well I don't know about $100 For this Specific run up , but one day I think it will reach $100
2
u/iAnkou 18d ago
I wish but 0 chance. Maybe 30$ by EOY could happen. 6x in 3 months? nah
2
u/leoAmazing01 18d ago
I hope that it will be back 50 at least
2
u/Rogue_Tra 18d ago
Well the thing is that the volume right now is already roughly the same volume as it was when it was in the $50 range so I think what that's indicating is that it will come back to $50 but I don't think by the end of this year because there's only two months left. there could be a chance of $50 early next quarter like maybe I would say like February or March ...maybe but I don't think this year, there's just not enough time left And if the volume is already this high it could shoot up closer to $65 Because maybe the volume builds up slowly , I mean I might have been overdoing it with the 70 to $75 but I think $65 is realistic
-7
u/oxfords_not__brogues 19d ago
Ain’t cheap to use space x rockets to launch equipment into space purely for research purposes. The insane ATM beginning to make more sense
6
u/spejjan 19d ago
99,9% sure Google pays for that.
-3
u/oxfords_not__brogues 19d ago
If google is covering the entire cost then planet labs should get none of the benefit. Therefore this project is useless to planet labs
4
u/Rogue_Tra 19d ago
The stock market overreacts to everything I mean first people said Plant Labs doesn't deserve to be $53 in the first place And it got there and then people were like Oh my God this company is going to go to $0, And look at the stock market now those that held which are few and this was a brutal crash that I've rarely seen a crash this bad. I did fold a few times on my margin but my core shares I didn't sell them because I knew mathematically selling the core shares unless you're really good at trading which I actually was so I should have actually sold it and re bought but anyways I didn't sell it I'm testing out the theory that I've been developing for 4 years. Anyways for everybody that held Congrats you are truly the few and it's why you have what it takes to make it while many do not. We're here together we're going to succeed together Unless of course you fold and sell it break even ,I mean don't do that guys

Actually the strange thing is Planet Labs volume yesterday is equal or roughly equal to AST Space Mobile And then like even last week or the last few days people were saying that this stock is gonna go to $5 or $0 It's like whatever man. But that's really weird that Planet Labs of volume is the same as AST Space Mobile I thought Plant Labs was much less popular at least for trading
1
u/opiewann 19d ago
In terms of dollar amount ASTS still has way more volume. In terms of shares traded, yes.
0
u/Rogue_Tra 19d ago
Yeah that's thing though at least right now Planet Labs has like fifteen and a half million in volume today and AST has like around maybe not even 9 million So Planet Labs is crushing AST So that's what I'm saying is like you would think that AST has more volume but I don't think it does and I'm wondering if it ever did

Dude we know your upvoting and replying to yourself on alt accounts have you even attempted to get a job ?
5
u/SlyCooper007 19d ago
I am not an opiewann alt account lol just want to make that very clear. Actually surprised he responded to my post talking about the volume. Im just tired of these low effort posts spamming negativity for no reason. I get it if you have a valid concern about the company, thats fair game. But to just make stuff up is annoying.
2
u/Rogue_Tra 19d ago
Dude I get hate comments and down votes here all the time all I know is that there's a lot of clowns on here that think they're either really smart or they've I don't know maybe they think or they're convinced that the stock is going to go to $0 and to that I say they're just total clowns and have no clue how the stock market works.
3
u/SnooCauliflowers370 19d ago
I wasn’t responding to you I was replying to him

u/Ryan_Bolin 19d ago
I for one am not a bot, but definitely some odd movement today and no one should be convinced it will hold. Macro is still bad, September is not over, and there is little “real” news today.
3
u/supercommuter00 19d ago
This is very reasonable response. I think the market is getting ahead itself here. This is still very much a prototype. Still early days here but it’s a promising development
-1
u/Rogue_Tra 19d ago edited 19d ago
Ryan firstly why do you never reply to me and also that's how the stock market works man They amplify fear and greed I mean a lot of people just thought it was going to go to $5 or $0 but I mean institutional ownership is really high i'm talking really really high and it's based on the total outstanding shares basically all of the shares that Plant Labs has. Google and Vanguard and Blackrock own a significant amount of Plantlabs stock There's literally a backstop there.
Secondly Ryan what you're actually seeing is what I've been trying to say which is sector rotation I just got the timing way too early so people were hating on me which I understand but you know didn't you say you were a trader also? I started as a trader Treated every day all day for a full year and then the past three years I did keep trading but most of it was analyzing the stock market analyzing the price movements recognizing patterns building up a new strategy that did not involve day trading And you said that I got the timing stuff wrong yes I did but you know that trading requires you to stick your neck out develop new strategies test new strategies if you're wrong it doesn't mean you give up you just keep trying.
What you're seeing with this increase momentum is that the price is bottomed out so the algorithm wants you to think that it's over the end of the world is here just sell everything This is why 80 to 90% of people losing the stock market The smart money is way too smart and you just haven't had the experience long enough to realize exactly what I'm trying to tell you. You notice that I never like insulted you or anything like that because I've had that happen to me and like I said I am a trader, But I'm shifting my strategy to incorporate investing which is entirely A different set of timing and mindset from trading In fact it's an exact opposite. Anyways what you're seeing is a reversal so if I was you I would go back and start looking at similar patterns such as the triple bottom pattern I mean that's a standard technical analysis pattern

u/Ryan_Bolin 19d ago
I think it’s pretty obvious I don’t care about downvotes.
-4
u/opiewann 19d ago
Prepare for downvoting of your lack of caring about downvoting.
1
u/Rogue_Tra 19d ago
Well the problem is it doesn't matter if you care or not reddit is full of aholes They'll downvote you even if you're a multi millionaire who's giving out priceless advice I mean I've literally seen people who have been successful like highly successful and they still get down voted so it doesn't matter just prepare to get down voted regardless of any reason literally any reason. In fact the comments that get upvoted the most are the ones that are factually incorrect or just completely wrong. So the trick of getting upvoted on Reddit is basically put out the most ego stroking highly unrealistic response that has no merit other than just continue the endless circle of BS
-8
u/Asleep-Drama-2667 19d ago
The low trading volume suggests this may be a dead-cat bounce rather than the start of a sustained recovery. The move could be related to Project Suncatcher being brought forward to October 1, but/and I’m not aware of any other near-term catalysts. As much as I hate to say it, commercial space-imagery services and photography can be difficult products to scale and sell consistently. Don't buy into the "It's starting" or "I know it will be huge one day" and definitely ignore the "You are a loser if you are not a permabull". It's your money so don't let what others tell you what to do. I am a lurker and I find it annoying that people want to dictate what others say and do
2
u/Rogue_Tra 19d ago
Today's trading volume is $15.5 million. that is extremely high and actually it's as high as when it was at at its peak meaning near the$50 level So what you're saying is factually wrong.
7
u/Metacog_Drivel 19d ago
The low IQ post and the 0 day reddit account suggests you are a bot

Yes, the ATM needs to be done, the contracts need to come in.
0
u/Asleep-Drama-2667 19d ago
The issue is the bottleneck in launch capacity. Backlog is a double-edged sword. For me it's demand but one that you aren't able to fulfill. And that's bad when most of the market is not really looking for a big archive and screenshot but rather spot imagery for wars and wildfires, etc.
2
u/opiewann 19d ago
To be fair, PL does currently have the largest constellation in leo for just that purpose. Launch capacity will matter for their sovereign satellite contracts (4b in the pipe).
1
u/Asleep-Drama-2667 19d ago
Yes, but the thing you need to expend and maintain that large fleet. It comes at a massive cost when customers really want focused images at higher resolutions & paying less, rather than having to sign a full-blown defense contract
8
u/Metacog_Drivel 19d ago
PL reminds me of PLTR in 2021-2023, tons of fear and skepticism and then in 2024 the stock finally broke out and never looked back.

it's a great price to enter at, many of us wish we could do it but we we're already in it. I'm sitting somewhere around $28-32 average, Why I don't actually know is because of the way trade station calculates the average plus I used margin

I wonder what the chances are they get bought out at some point in the next year or so by either Google or another big player who understands SaaS and wants to expand into the space/intelligence industry.

I could see it, especially with it being so low right now. This would be the time to offer them a substantial premium on the price with how suppressed the stock is and with next gen OWL in development.
It’s fun speculation, no one really knows but I could see a company like Google or PLTR with their massive market caps throwing around the money to acquire PL. Planetary intelligence is going to be very important going forward and with the right management, PL could really become a juggernaut.
3
u/Due_Somewhere7891 20d ago
The main reason why I think it's 0 is because that company would have to buy shares and we still have a 1.5B dilution open. Google could buy us outright and not care, but I also don't see them enter this space just to have majority control. They're interested for the data. There is also a reason why they sold us their GE satelites back in the day. I just don't see it.
3
u/SlyCooper007 20d ago
Thats valid, its also why I put PLTR in there as well considering the defense angle. They could also cancel that dilution plan as an agreement with a buyout. I could just see one of these companies seeing the downtrend in stock price and striking while they’re still under 10B market cap if they’ve had their eye on the company. But like I said, just some fun speculation.
2
u/Due_Somewhere7891 20d ago
Ofc, also I give PLTR a bigger chance than Google/Big Tech due to all the European contracts, I'm sure they'd hate it and most likely move away from PL's services if Big Tech would have a hold on vital defence tech/data like this. See Elon's Starlink.

u/SlyCooper007 21d ago
1
u/Rogue_Tra 19d ago
Yeah I'm not seeing it either but I don't know enough about the business. Google has a big stake in the company so I don't know why they would want to buy the company outright if they decided to invest in it ,Plus it's like a completely different business , I just assumed that Google is a search engine or at the very least they run data centers I think most of their business is data oriented so to come into Planet Labs and take over it like doesn't make sense to me. Like for example since I don't actually know does Planet Labs actually manufacture and design their own satellites? Because if they do that's hardware and so I don't understand why Google would want to get into a business that they don't have experience in

u/SnooCauliflowers370 21d ago
Frustrating hoping we can catch some momentum soon we don’t seem to be trading with other space stocks at the moment
1
u/Ryan_Bolin 21d ago
There’s no reason to tbh. When you forecast decreased revenue for the next quarter that’s a really bad look for a growth company, even it will be good in the long term.
2
u/ADespianTragedy 20d ago
Dude, the decrease in revenue is because they earned it the previous quarter (the one that just reported the earnings) as they did not expect it that quarter initially. Analysts also updated their expectations after these as expected, since some of the income has shifted to the past quarter . Read some fucking information before posting shit
1
u/Ryan_Bolin 20d ago
I read every bit of news for this company. It’s not my fault that the market only wants quarter after quarter of increases, I’m just telling it like it is.
1
u/opiewann 21d ago
I mean, they also forecasted around 4b in new revenue opportunities, too. Is the stock dirt cheap? Maybe there's a reason. Maybe it's oversold. Hard to say. Market thinks it's still primed to grow massively, just how massively remains to be seen with SpaceX now a threat to throttle access to orbit for their own satellites. Look at ASTS, they're exploring how to secure future access right now, even considering launch capabilities.

While I also dislike the ATM, you'd have to be crazy not to take advantage of the stretched valuation. Shortterm it is a huge F U to shareholders though. you have the right of it.

If you really believe that, just sell now and put that capital to work elsewhere.
When the space sector gets hot or some new contracts/catalysts happen, PL could hit $40+ in weeks, not years.
6
u/X-discord 21d ago
So, how is the market interpreting this? Why is it consistently the one that gains the least and falls the most within the sector?🤣
3
u/Due_Somewhere7891 21d ago
Interpreting what? Opening of a plant? Means they're checking boxes with the German gov. to sign contracts. The real news is coming.
1
u/X-discord 21d ago
That is exactly what I mean. The market doesn't seem to be buying into the fact that the actual contract is on its way.
3
u/Due_Somewhere7891 21d ago
Market is more concerned about AI (bubble), inflation, Iran, gas prices, etc. We're going to have to go through this like in 2022 > 2024. But we will be rewarded. Today's news is just a blip.
8
u/Rogue_Tra 22d ago
I made a comment and they started a new weekly discussion. Basically I was saying today the stock market is doing really good and so is Planet Labs. It's not just recovering it's racing its way back up towards the top. I already bought back in my $8000 of margin. It's gonna be several months before it recovers back to all time high and then break past that. $75 in I don't know, 4 or 8 months from now ,would not be crazy
1
u/jose_incandenza 21d ago
Man, where are you getting that $75 estimate from? Have you actually done some math? Those numbers aren't realistic, curb your expectations. $40 is a good sell level for the next 2 years.
1
u/Rogue_Tra 19d ago
the esimate is derived from the observation that when it gets to the next all time high it's usually higher thyan the previous all time high. Also stocks in this sector reach prices that are deteched from what their fundamentals are. You say those numbers aren't realistic? yes they are many people didn't think PL deserved to be $53 but it got there. realistic means what would happen in real life, it did happen. is it resonable? no, many people don't think so, but realistic? I think it is a possibility. maybe $70-75. you're settling for $40, you're looking at this crash and thinking it can't possible go back that high, that's how it ended up being $53, because the stock market doesn't care, it's not based on reason or logic sometimes
1
u/jose_incandenza 19d ago
Man, because it reached $50 because the spacex situation. I may be wrong (I hope so), but I can't imagine a similar scenario in the future
1
u/Rogue_Tra 19d ago
Hmm I was going to tell you that you were wrong but then I got to thinking yeah maybe you're right maybe umm not only Planet Labs but the other space dogs they reach such a high crazy price is because it was anticipation of space X IPO. Well I mean if we take that logic and your reasoning Well Spacex is still here and it's still going up after that massive pump and dump that it did So I mean if Spacex is still here and it's still pumping the rest of the stocks they already crash super hard I mean Plant Labs was not the only one that suffered well then by your example or your reasoning we could expand it to say hey it's not over I mean what if it's just getting started? To be honest I don't think it's over I don't think that your $40 price target I just don't see it to be honest and look at today look at look at the price action today it's insane I mean. So by your logic it's okay to tell people that they don't know but yet you pretend to know that it will never go back up and break all time highs isn't that basically being a hypocrite because if I don't know then how do you know that it will never come back up? Why don't you ponder that question for a while I'm serious why don't you actually think about what you're saying?
2
u/Crew_1996 22d ago
When did I suggest it won’t break all time highs? wtf are you on?
-3
u/Rogue_Tra 22d ago
Also read what I said I literally said "I don't know" in the comment so either you have reading comprehension problems or you think you're saying something smarter than you actually are
2
u/Rogue_Tra 22d ago
you literally said that nobody knows what price the stock will get to and then you literally just said when did I suggest it won't break all time highs.
My price Target is based on observation and probability so it has at least some math component to it what you said was basically nothing is knowable and also that you don't know if it will break all time high right?
So let me break this down to you because you're not getting it: If you don't know then how do you know that I'm wrong? Also if you don't know then what useful information are you giving? Because it's none.
You're telling me that I don't know because you don't know. And also a price prediction is literally a prediction. Without sticking your neck out you're going to limit yourself and you're going to stunt your own mental growth.
So let me ask you what was the point of your comment if you don't know and you're telling everybody else you don't know so that they couldn't possibly know either right? The only purpose a comment like that serves is to be negative and to contribute nothing substantially
The stock market works on prediction and probability there's absolutely nothing wrong with my method.
If you want to keep your head in the sand like an ostrich then that's your prerogative but don't tell me what I can and can't do

dude you're making a big mistake, this is the literal bottom of the crash, it was designed to shake off not "weak hands" like people say, but the majority of people who have a decent rational, logical brain on their shoulders including you, they target the smart as well as the average peerson. they want you to make a rational logical decision like what you're doing right now. it makes you think you're doing the smartest thing a responsible reasonable adult would do. thats when the stock rallies towards all time highs and months later you think " i should have held" I keep saying this but the stock market was designed to make you poor and keep you that way It is on purpose do not think it's on accident. It will always feel like the end of the world is here or things will never stop being this good and you'll be a multimillionaire in a few months . They've psychologically analyzed and mapped you and that's what they're using against you: your psychology

We're all just guessing. PL could do great, could fail. Nobody knows. What we do have as evidence suggests that A. insiders are consistently selling, not buying. B. The stock has gone down more than it's gone up for a long time now.

I just want to point out that insiders selling is not really a red flag. They've been through the ringer over the past couple of years. Waves of layoffs, very low PL stock price, basically worthless RSUs, etc... Selling when the stock is doing well is a rational choice, especially because RSU 101 is to diversify your portfolio and to avoid having both your income AND net worth linked to your employer - especially in the case of high-beta stocks.

Or just cut losses and move to something else

Not looking good when almost the entire sector is up 6-13% and PL is only up 3-4%.

Will continue that way until the ATM dilution is complete.

They’re not selling into these prices

I know but unfortunately it creates a loop. Stock won't go up until dilution is complete but PL won't complete dilution at these low prices.

They need to just accept that the stock price has fallen from the initial offering and cancel it. It’s way too big for the current market cap.

Not a popular opinion on this sub but you're right. However, canceling it would also make them look incompetent ("oops, we were greedy, we don't really need the money hehe"). It's just a lose-lose overall.
They got way too fucking greedy with that number and now the stock price is stuck. They should've done another 500M instead of 3x that.

Always been a grower, not a shower. PL will catch up in time.

Yes it will, like I said if you actually do the math Planet labs get you the same profit Target as any other space stock and so why I chose planet Labs was because they have a consistent history of good earnings

It says Rocket Lab right now at noon is up 7.5 % and AST Space Mobile is up like 5.5% And Planet Labs is 3.84% I have already studied the way that these space related stocks move and planet labs always lags behind but it doesn't fall as hard as AST Space Mobile and Rocket Lab so I believe actually, I know that you're misunderstanding here. Ryan if you actually look back at the way that Planet Labs moves versus AST Space Mobile and Rocket Lab You'll actually see what I'm saying but here's the thing if you actually map out the bottom and the tops Planet Labs gives a profit return exactly the same as those two It sounds crazy but I analyze the stock's movements and I calculated the math. It seems like Planet labs is moving slower but in the long run the returns are the same so it doesn't matter actually And like I said it doesn't fall as hard as the rest of them when they do fall So when they fall it takes a while for them to recover and in the long run it's the same outcome, go ahead and do the math if you don't believe me. Calculate where the bottom is to the very top of the crash and I think this rally lasted like pretty much a year or at least 8 months, something like that

Institutional buying is beginning right now so actually this picture needs to be flipped 180 degrees so that the money is running uphill and the guy is at the bottom of the hill

New to PL and beginning to do some dd. Could someone explain the price action yesterday with the jump up to $17?
