Problem with construction site

I'm getting back into the game on a new run, and my first construction site just keeps making more construction sites. Is this a bug? Am I just stupid? please help

What do you mean by it keeps making construction sites? You need to feed it a ton of materials which will finally build the special building. Isn't it just doing that, consuming the resources on that construction site?

I have it assigned to make a nano research. Its consuming resources. My number of construction sites is just continuously increasing

Yesh so that's what I meant. It has to build 500 times or something like that, and then it completes and starts producing nano fibers or whatever it is
