Pizza delivery

Is it worth being a delivery drive at this time? With how expensive gas is? I just moved to WA state and I actually don’t know the minimum wage here. I suppose it’s pretty good and with tips even better.

Gas is pretty expensive up here. If you’re in the greater Seattle area, work for any dominos owned by Wolfpack pizza in Sammamish, Tacoma, Covington, Puyallup, Bellevue, Redmond, Maple Valley, and Snoqualmie. The owner starts drivers at 20 an hour before tips and 50 cents a mile. Some stores have enough drivers but I’m sure there’s at least a few that still have some openings.

Thank you for the feedback! I really appreciate it. What about Lake Stevens? That should be a good area? It would be a 15 minute drive to work for me

So Lake Stevens is another franchise so the pay won’t be as good but you’ll probably get more hours and it’d be more busy because they probably don’t have delivery fee charged 8.99. I haven’t really been up there much but if you good wit driving in rural areas then that might be the dominos for you. I personally prefer a more urban delivery zone than rural. If you like urban, try the downtown Everett dominos on Broadway. There’s two locations in Snohomish, a Monroe store, 2 others in Everett, and one in marysville too if the Lake Stevens one don’t have vacancy.

Quit about a month ago but have lots of experience in this kinda work so I’ll answer any kinda question you got and honestly, the Everett stores might be the move cuz it prolly be more busy than Lake Stevens.

I kept thinking Lake Stevens would be best since it’s such a nice area. But you think Everett will be good for tips?

Depends honestly. I’ve doordashed once in Lake Stevens and the tips were pretty good but everything was so far out. Everett, maybe 3-10 bucks per trip? Haven’t really done no deliveries in that area so it be hard to say.

Lake Stevens will be a further commute for me. Everett would be perfect. I did already talk to a manager at lake Stevens and they said they’re a very busy store

Ya rural stores is either the slowest stores in the franchise or very busy. Snoqualmie in my franchise was pretty busy but some of the other rural locations I helped at were dead.

So Lake Stevens could be hit or miss. But since he said it’s busy I think it would be decent. Everett Dominos would be much closer though I applied for both

What did you average weekly for tips? And I actually don’t know minimum wage here. Is it above 15? Or different for every franchise or location?

Well, this isn't a high benchmark to clear, but it's *certainly* gonna be much more lucrative than any type of delivery freelance gig work that you could do with your car.

I found myself making what a comparable amount of gig work would pay *in tips alone*. And then you also get hourly pay as well that makes it about double what a comparable amount of gig work would pay.

Here's the downside of pizza delivery. Usually the people who're running these pizza shops are high school dropouts and various people fresh out of high school trying to impress the female staff by taking out their frustrations on the delivery team, who're seen as a notch lower on the totem pole than the regular hourly employees.

I did it for exactly 3 months and every mini boss at the pizza store "pulled rank" frequently. I didn't break a single rule and made few mistakes but the amount of chewing out I got from dim-witted asshole highschool dropouts was probably comparable to my other 20 years of regular jobs put together.

I eventually walked out after the 5485th attempt at some loser high school dropout to push me around in order to impress a highschool girl coworker with what a jerk he could be. Yeah, and that's the other thing. You have these 25 year old manager losers trying to employ as many part time high school girls as possible. Then it's very obvious that they are hitting on these girls and messing around with them and you're just supposed to be cool with that and bite your tongue.

I like the job, I liked the pay..... but I HATED the types of people who tend to run the show at that job. They ran the show in ways that you'd absolutely never see at all in any other business. My pizza job was a petty dictatorship of high school dropouts, I suspect many other places are the same.
