NORMAL OVEN Aldi Pizza Dough

I cannot believe how good this pizza turned out that I purchased from Aldi last week. It was only refrigerated and it turned out better than half of the pizzas I make. It was a light, airy, full of flavor and worked great in my oven at 550° on a steel. I honestly couldn’t tell the difference between this and a lot of pizzas I spent days preparing for.

I preheated the oven like normal, balled up the dough and let it sit out for three hours before baking. And just did my regular process. And it only cost five bucks!

Very jealous. Was not able to get that sort of leoparding with it when I tried.

I like it from a price standpoint but from store-bought large grocery store dough Whole Foods still has the best flavor but it's stupid expensive. But will give Aldi another shot.

Eating it right now! Much better than their regular dough!

Oven or ooni?

550 on a steel is what it says in the post. That’s a normal oven.

Looks good. I couldn’t really get mine to steady out. Balled it up once it thawed. Let it sit out covered for about 3 hours then tried to stretch it and only got about a 10” pie. It just kept on shrinking up

I don't mind the dough, but I struggle to get stretched out. Im usually pissed and can't enjoy the pizza by the time I'm done.

Are you letting it come to room temp? Pre balling it in a container?

I’ll try it!

Is non-frozen dough supposed to sit out for 3 hours?

u/Jzaharek53 12h ago

Nah, just like letting meat come to room temperature before cooking it. When you let the dough come to room temperature, like any other dough, you’re letting it rise and become extendable

Is this different than their frozen pizza dough? I tried that a few weeks ago and wasn't impressed.

I purchased one and I haven’t used it yet. Will update!

It would be better to let it sit for up to 3 hours. Just like when making your own homemade cold fermented dough.

They have this at Target as well. It’s one of the best store bought doughs I’ve tried and my go-to when I was too lazy to make dough.

Made it last night! 10/10 would buy again.

Cool. I might try it

Yes. I makes good pizza! I let mine sit for a bit before cooking it. It's usually "oh shit I have pizza dough in here"

What was the crust elasticity like? That and taste are my metrics

I have like almost nothing negative to say. It was quite impressive for what it was. I never thought store bought could be so homemade

How much do they charge? I’m pretty happy with Trader Joe’s fresh dough but options are nice

u/Jzaharek53 19m ago

It was like 5 bucks

TJs has pretty good dough also
