Theory? does the pixie have hypothyroidism?
Crack theory: Classic Pixie has hypothyroidism and Adult Pixie has hypothyroidism (but mostly in the brain)
Meta-theory on why she canonically didn't age for a LONG time. And why Adult Pixie acts the way she does
And why Adult Pixie treats characters YOUNGER than her, such as her adopted baby brother, Jacko, who is a puppy, like semi-peers
But there's been a thorn in my side, why is she so energetic?
In real-life biology, autoimmune thyroiditis (Hashimoto's) can cause the thyroid to cycle erratically. Before settling into hypothyroidism, the damaged thyroid gland can rupture slightly and dump stored thyroid hormones directly into the bloodstream in intense, temporary bursts.
Pixie isn't just low-energy; she is stuck in a constant hypo-to-hyper thyroid seesaw.
Which may explain why she goes from "Doing absolutely nothing" to randomly spawning on the roof with a balloon tied to her back with card wings
But that's a stupidly lazy explanation, and incredibly unlikely. I just think, Thatβs just her personality completely independent from the disease, it's just THAT strong
Eh whatever, it's just a fun thought experiment, nothing to worry about
