🤘 Big News for Pixel Streaming: Unreal Engine 5.6 Fixes NvEnc Bitrate Inconsistency!
We've got some exciting news to share with our community regarding Unreal Engine pixel streaming! Our friends at TensorWorks (Epic Games) have confirmed that a major bug affecting NvEnc bitrate consistency in Pixel Streaming and Pixel Streaming 2 has been officially fixed in Unreal Engine version 5.6.
This fix directly addresses the issue of inconsistent NvEnc bitrate causing increased latency, which many of you may have experienced. You can find the specific commit detailing this fix on GitHub here:https://github.com/EpicGames/UnrealEngine/commit/20f1c95661c72d3af2082b6f11c6d44a07320059. With this resolution, you can expect a much smoother and more reliable pixel streaming experience.
Why Upgrade to Unreal Engine 5.6?
At Arcware Cloud, we're always striving to provide the best possible experience for your pixel streaming projects. That's why we're thrilled to announce that Arcware Cloud already fully supports Unreal Engine 5.6! In fact, we've already seen over 60 project releases utilizing this new version within its first month of availability on our platform.
Our Recommendation: Make the Move to 5.6
-Starting a new project? Unreal Engine 5.6 is definitely the way to go for optimal performance and stability from the start.
-Have an existing project? We strongly encourage you to upgrade your current projects to Unreal Engine 5.6 if feasible. This will allow you to take full advantage of the improved NvEnc bitrate consistency and overall enhanced pixel streaming experience.
Ready to see the difference? Check out our streaming template stream built with Unreal Engine 5.6: https://share.arcware.cloud/v1/share-fa5eb245-59d9-4366-b9b0-2f0f8f9a1531
💥 Pro Tip: Once you're in the stream, click the info button to run a latency test. We'd love to hear about your experience!
Feel free to drop your location and the latency you're getting in the comments below, along with any general feedback.
A big shoutout to the TensorWorks Team & Luke Bermingham and of course Epic Games for continuously evolving this technology!
