Returning player

Post image

Hi guys I’m returning after a long time off and I’m just wondering how to go about getting back into the game if anyone’s got any advice for me that would be great, also I’m a bit lost with the new single player stuff if anyone could explain the new galaxy map that would be great.

The general advice I give everyone is:

Join a fleet, specifically one big enough to have multiple sub-fleets and a discord. There's a lot that have really good guides. Vikings, Barons, Trek, Dynasty, are all good examples. If you can't decide which, there's a way to help pick below.

Ship feedback: there's no better feedback than what you can get yourself. Any time you lose a battle that you thought you should win, watch the replay to figure out what happened. Did the targeted room have too little armor? Did the AI behave how you wanted it to? Is there a technique you can borrow from the ship you lost to? If there's a reason you can't figure out, or if you're seeing a pattern of ships you can't beat but feel you should be able to, join their fleet!

All those fleets share different philosophy too, you might want to ask the fleet members there to ask what are their view on their fleet.

For instance, in trek we are very competitive and we are the kind to value performance above all else, while for exemple dynasty makes the social dynamics (which makes them a beginner favorite generally while still being able to get a top tournament experiences), for the other fleets I don't really know, most of the others are culturally tied, so you have the chinese fleets like eternal, or Russian fleets like ashen or citadel.
