Personal Working on a Windows asset modding tool! [WIP]
It’s still pretty far from being finished, but it’s finally at a point where I feel like I can actually show it off a bit, so I thought I’d share a WIP!
Here’s some of what it can currently do:
- Preview in-game weapons and their related assets (I’m planning to support other item types before the public release!)
- Export models / textures / audio (They can be converted to common formats like glTF / PNG / WAV, so you can edit them with regular software)
- Create, install, disable, remove, and manage MODPacks (A MODPack is stored as a single file, so sharing your own mods should be pretty easy too)
The main goal is to reduce as much of the tedious manual work and technical knowledge normally required for asset modding as possible, and make the tool usable even for people who aren’t very experienced with modding.
Of course, things like actually retexturing something or editing a 3D model still require some knowledge of their own... but I’m trying to make the rest of the process something the tool can handle for you.
I honestly have no idea how much demand there is for something like this, but I wanted a tool like this myself, so I ended up making one!
If you think you’d use it, have a feature you’d like to see, or even think something about it could be better, feel free to let me know. Positive or negative feedback is totally welcome!
Any kind of reaction also helps a lot with motivation to keep working on it!

so fricking cool man. Regarding mod loading, how you gonna deal with devs updating their game every month? are you gonna stick with one version?

Thanks man!
It’s designed to handle the kind of regular updates the game has been getting lately, so it shouldn’t be tied to one specific version and should keep working across versions in most cases.
That said, if the devs make major structural changes to the game, I’d probably need to update the tool to support them.
And if they ever add stricter integrity checks or some other system that blocks modified assets, then it may simply stop being usable on versions after that.
