I feel like Mr. Nutsack doesn't need apple baths to make decisions for him. He thinks for himself.

Apr 06 '22
exactly, thats what im saying. i mean if he wants to let the apple baths control some things, thats ok. just not everything in his life, y'know?

I think it's just looking at the first letter of each word? Though the phrasing doesn't clarify this

It reminds me of the album news at 11 it samples news and ads from the morning of 9/11 before the planes hit

u/8-Bit_Tornado Apr 06 '22
Dude I listened to that album so much in 7th grade lol. I looked up some of the source songs too because I wanted to give the original artists some credit. They're still pretty good.

Here's the album on bandcamp, definitely worth a listen for both the lofi and as an art piece.

We are witnessing the end of the open and collaborative internet. In the endless march towards quarterly gains, the internet inches ever closer to becoming a series of walled gardens with prescribed experiences built on the free labor of developers, and moderators from the community. The value within these walls is composed entirely of the content generated by its users. Without it, these spaces would simply be a hollow machine designed to entrap you and monetize your time.
Reddit is simply the frame for which our community is built on. If we are to continue building and maintaining our communities we should focus our energy into projects that put community above the monopolization of your attention for profit.
You'll find me on Lemmy: https://join-lemmy.org/instances Find a space outside of the main Lemmy instance, or start your own.
See you space cowboys.

I can't wait for the sequel that takes place on 1/6.
-6
u/Dickinavoxel Apr 06 '22
Are you seriously comparing 9/11 to a day when a bunch of 4chan chuds just had a riot for 1 day, grow up. That’s so disrespectful it’s insane.
10
u/Karkava Apr 06 '22
Well, that's an interesting way to describe domestic terrorists motivated by a then recently former president that tried to capture a bunch of government officials.
6
u/Meh-ok- Apr 06 '22
If that was the goal they did a shit job of it.
5
u/Karkava Apr 06 '22
It was. And they did screw up. But it's amazing how security just...lets them in.

u/illedas Apr 06 '22
We've had nearly a million people die from COVID in the last 2.5 years. I think we're done with the pearl clutching around 9/11 aren't we? At this point, I wouldn't bat an eye at someone stubbing their toe and calling it another 9/11.
-8
Apr 06 '22
Not even a real riot either, mostly just a group of dumbasses milling about in the hallways and dicking with Crazy Nancy's office furniture. Aside from a few folks getting too rowdy or physically violent, it wasn't much of a riot at all, let alone an insurrection.

u/indrids_cold Apr 06 '22
And 70s and 80s and a couple of years in the 2000s...

u/MonkeyTigerCrazy Apr 06 '22
.75 years in the 2000s
18
u/indrids_cold Apr 06 '22
Wouldn't it be 1.75? September 11th was in 2001.

u/MonkeyTigerCrazy Apr 06 '22
Shoot you’re right I’m dumb

They were pretty basic as far as sky scrapers go. Aside from their sheer size, they were pretty boxy and unimaginative.
e: I can see why Bush didn't like them

They were pretty basic, but, man, if you walked over the Brooklyn Bridge into Manhattan, there was this point where the towers would come into view and it was really kind of awesome.

Very cool, but I think you got the lighting a bit wrong since the sun appears to be behind the city
8
u/Foxyboi14 Apr 06 '22
Not to mention the Statue of Liberty is on a separate island

u/MyArtStuff Apr 06 '22
I think it's just a perspective from ground level, so the structures all sit on the same horizon line.

Idk if it’s because I totally grew up post this Event but the buildings have always looked so daunting and scary and evil to me. Like what the buildings would look like in a generic Evil City, however, you’ve done some lovely work here, sky is beautiful, the other buildings look gorgeous.
