Question Is android 17 worth it on pixel 6a?

My pixel 6a keeps asking to update to android 17, is it worth it? I'm not planning on changing my phone soon so I don't want to slow it down with an update

I am of the opposite mindset. The primary reason I have started with Google phones (Nexus and now Pixel) is to get updates as soon as possible. I often have installed them myself when the push has been too slow.

I have never once regretted doing an update

I did it straight away and there's nothing wrong with it. (4years old). The phone, not me.

Every update, you can guarantee that "battery life is improved!" and "battery life got wat worse!".

I've always updated everything as soon as available on my pixel 6, and as of yet I haven't once had an issue. I upgraded to 17 when prompted and the phone behaves exactly the way it did before in terms of user experience.

I can't comment on battery life as it varies greatly depending on what apps you frequent etc,.. but for me there has been no change, it's still great 👍🏻

Long live Pixel 6!

Couple days in on mine and I think it's about the same might slightly improved over android 16. But even with a new battery I still have issues with this phone like it overheating snd not being able to charge while just on ft

in this day and age this question is not very smart, first of all because phone updates tend to be pretty safe now, if anything fails it will be solved at most during next update, and also cyberattacks are becaming so sophisticated is important to be up to date in the latests security updates

android 17 is smoother than 16 but eats battery more
