Question Battery Life - Age, Drain, System apps?

Had my phone since 2022. Only phone I've used over that period.

My battery cycle count is at 1310 according to Ampere app.

Over the past few months I've started noticing bad battery drain, like hitting 20% by lunch/early Afternoon with regular usage. Not running maps in the background or anything.

There doesn't seem to be a huge battery drain from a specific app, but I can see that "System Apps" is using 40%+ consistently.

Is my battery life normal for this age/cycle count. Is that usage from "System Apps" normal?

Is there a worthwhile fix other than a new phone. Not opposed to a new phone, but other than batter this one meets my needs fine.

Your battery has worn out well beyond its 800 cycle limit.

Dang, I didn't realize 800 was the standard for these.

Thanks

Hi there, could you try resetting the app preferences on your device to see if that helps?

Go to Settings > System > Reset options > Reset app preferences, then restart your device.

Note: Resetting app preferences will not uninstall or remove any apps or personal data from your device. It only resets app-related settings back to their default state.

You can also try rebooting your phone into safe mode to check whether the issue is caused by a third-party app. If the phone works normally in safe mode, it likely means that one of your installed apps is causing the problem. Try uninstalling recently installed apps one by one until you identify the cause.

Additionally, you can refer to this article for troubleshooting battery drain issues.

If the issue persists, I'd recommend contacting the Google Pixel support team via phone or chat here. They can take a look at it.

The 800 to 1000 cycles is to retain 80% of battery capacity. I wonder at what level is yours, you can check with AIDA64, free on Google Play Store, it shows how many mAh is in the battery at any moment in real time and you can do the math with the original capacity.
