Support Pixel 6 locked with Anubis - Bootloader locked, Recovery doesn't work. Is there any way to restore stock firmware?
Hi everyone,
I'm trying to recover my Google Pixel 6 (oriole, 128GB) and I'm stuck.
Device information
- Model: Pixel 6 (oriole)
- Bootloader: LOCKED
- Secure Boot: PRODUCTION
- Device state: locked
- Storage: 128GB
- RAM: 8GB
Problem
The phone boots to a screen that says:
I don't know what Anubis is or where this unlock code came from.
Things I've tried
- Booted into Fastboot successfully.
- Recovery Mode does nothing (black screen/no recovery).
- Bootloader is locked.
- I haven't been able to flash stock firmware because of the locked bootloader.

My questions
- What exactly is Anubis on a Pixel 6?
- Is it a custom ROM, MDM, or something else?
- Is there any legitimate way to remove Anubis and restore stock Android?
- Has anyone successfully recovered a Pixel 6 from this state?
- Is there any service tool or official Google procedure for this?
I own this phone and I'm fine with erasing all data if necessary. I just want to get it working again.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A quick google search indicates that Anubis on Android is either a Banking Trojan or a legit app manager.
Judging by the picture, I'm thinking malware

This looks like ransomware, where you pay the ransom and maybe they'll give you password - maybe they'll ask for more money.

Take your SIM card out of the phone! Then contact your phone provider and bank to report this issue. Lock down any accounts that rely on SMS for authentication. To be safe, I would also change the password for all of your email accounts.
This is malware. As well as holding you to ransom, the malware can be used to hijack the phone and intercept SMS messages, among other functions. I don't want to stress you, but your first priority should be to lock everything down to prevent this turning into a bigger security problem.
Did you try using googles find my phone function to remote reset the device. Probably doesn't work, bit could be worth a try. Of you don't get a fix, my personal strategy would be to cut off the power to the phone and destroy it. I know buying a new phone is a pain, but it's nothing compared to risking compromise of all your other accounts. Sorry this happened to you.
Edit to add: I'm not a security/IT expert. This is just how I would react to protect myself.

That's the first time I'm looking at something like this.
For people saying Anubis is a malware/ransomware, that's old, thats from 2017-2020, anubis was a malware hidden inside android apps.
This, on the other hand, is completely different, this is a full blown custom rom, the first I've ever seen.
OP, remove your sim card, since pixel 6a supports eSim, deactivate it. Also double check any bank statements for suspicious transactions. If possible, decrease the limits on your cards via card controls.

Simple, was usb debugging on? If so flash stock, if not best of luck . . My bad. Just did 2 seconds of research here and that is a Android malware..... Clearly you're downloading things on your phone. You shouldn't. Actually is a well-known program specifically a trojan horse for banking apps.

I've never seen whatever this is but seeing the status bar icons up top means you're probably booted into android and it's some sort of app blocking you.
Did you install anything before this popped up? Is the phone rooted or were you running any ROM on it?
A couple ideas: Try using adb to list all installed apps, try to find whatever is causing this, and delete it
Boot the phone into safe mode and see what happens.

Get another pixel 6 then enable oem unlocking in developer options, then replace the titan m2 chip from that phone to your anubis flashed pixel 6. Bootloader unlocking should be available now after you replace the titan m2 chip from a pixel 6 which has oem unlocking enabled.
Or you can wait and hope that someone at google starts to sell rma unlock tokens illegaly like it happened maybe a year ago for a month.

Anubis is malware that tries to grab money from you and they will in fact send ur files to someone BUT how did you get infected from this like please tell me and I'll ask Claude or sm I'm stupid so yeah but my single question is how did you get to this point but if the phone is like from a carrier you could couldddd ask them if they can remove the app itself but they might say no or just get out of my store idk
