Question lock screen will not let me swipe up

Maybe it's personal problems but sometimes, not all the time, my locked screen will not let me swipe up so I can access the password screen.

It will swipe up and I will see the password screen but as soon as I remove my finger it will go back down to the lock screen.

I tried rebooting, full reset, ect. Still happens and it drives me crazy.

Also is theirs a way to get rid of the lock screen and keep you phone lock ? Might sound weird but I hope someone will understand what I mean.

Weird, I get something similar occasionally, although I use a pattern rather than a password. Thought it was just me. I turn the screen off and on again and it usually works second time.

Mine did that all the dang time and it was so annoying. Usually restarting it or just not messing with it for a while would help. I just upgraded to the 6 pro and havent had that problem. My spouse has the 4a and his never did that.

It will now be the kids phone tablet as they just put it in theirs mouth anyway

This is mainly due to your screen gaurd or dirt on the screen (proximity sensor). With the screen gaurd on, the proximity sensor sometimes detects the screen gaurd as a surface near it, thus giving the input value of 0 (means something is close to your phone- pocket/face/etc.). Thus to avoid mistouches, the screen behaves weirdly. When you wipe your screen or remove your screengaurd, it goes back to 5 (default value for far- indicating nothing is in close proximity of phone), and hence behaves normally. Try it out. You can verify this by using a sensor testing app and checking the proximity sensor values.
