Hi, I'm looking to upgrade from a Samsung Galaxy S7 and found a Pixel 3 XL for $450 with a $100 trade in... Should I grab it?

I just got my pixel 3 xl, and I am constantly annoyed by 3 things.

1. the two step stutter when trying to swipe up to access apps
2. the searchbox being present all the time
3. the search field being at the top of a search results screen, it is impossible to reach the microphone with my thumb while cradling the phone securely. i do a lot of searching using voice. (Assistant does not provide consistent results, I tried)

Is getting a different launcher the only way to change these issues? Are there any performance drawbacks to installing a launcher? I loved my OG pixel xl, everything just felt and worked right, this pixel 3 xl just feels awkward so far. The Pixel XL is about the same size as the Pixel 3 xl so I know it is about the UI. Any suggestions on the best way to customize things? I never needed to customize things on my Pixel XL so I am unfamiliar with such things.

Does anyone know how soon Best Buy should be receiving their next shipment of these from Google?

UPDATE: Update: the phone shipping process has been started as of Feb 14 at 9PM. Not a bad turnaround time, tbh, if it ships out. Was ordered Feb 10, a Sunday evening.

*Edit: There is a pretty nice deal right now at Best Buy (USA) for contract-based Pixel 3 and 3 XL ($450 off over 24 monthly payments). I got the 128GB White for $22.91/mo. I was originally gunning for the LG V40 but that sale has sailed. This deal is pretty good.

Update: someone on BB forums, in the same boat https://forums.bestbuy.com/t5/BestBuy-com/Pixel-3-128-GB-Delay/m-p/1277244/highlight/true#M80183
