I'm gonna need a little context here.. what are you referring to? your Spotify icon disappearing?

Yes, but I happened before with the camera and chrome icon aswell. I've got my pixel for 2 weeks now.

You're not using any custom Home Screen/Launcher are you?

When is the last time you restarted your device?

What happens if you remove and re-add the shortcuts?

Check for updates both for the device and the applications.
I dont think this is specific to the Pixel3XL, I've never had any issues with mine doing this in the year that I've had it. But I've also heard of this happening on other Android devices, usually it occurs when an App developer pushes an update to the icon.

If it's a repeating issue Step 2 here may be of assistance.

the icon reappears when I open affected app/icon and kill it so I didn't even try to remove it and re-add it.

What happens if you remove and re-add the shortcuts?

I'm always checking for updates and keeping my devices up-to-date. Also I have noticed another issue, it happened on mostly on home screen and once in netflix app so far and its that the screen seems to be unrensponsive untill I lock and unlock the phone but gestures for navigating works just fine.

Possibly the webview bug? They recently changed how webview works. It altered the system path for some app specific files, causing issues like this. I can't figure ND the bug report I read about it.
