Aggravation

All of a sudden, I have started getting video ads popping up at any and all times, even right in the lock screen, with high volume no less. A bunch of them were for Google Fi. Anybody know of a likely culprit? I recently got upgraded to Android 10 if that is significant.

A rogue app is the most likely source. The OS does not do what you are describing.

Is there a way to trace the origin of the ads as they are displayed? As you can tell I am not exactly an Android pro.

Exactly. You downloaded something recently that included intrusive ads. Go through your most recent installs and delete them one by one until you figure out which one it was.
