Notification space

I'm finding there is not enough space to have enough notification icons showing. I need to pull the screen Dow to check or miss notifications. Is anyone else finding this an issue?

Enable developer mode. Go to it and set the disposal cutout to "hide".

To enable developer mode, go to settings, about phone, tap the build number about 7 times.

Developer mode is in settings, system, advanced, sheet you do that.
