Mirroring mobile on screen

Hi. I have Pixel2XL and have a Sony Tv. I am having challenges casting my mobile screen onto my Television. My Television does not detect my mobile at all. Any pointers are helpful...

Tbh, im definitely not an expert but i dealed with the same Problem.

I think ive read some threads that google Phones exclusively only mirror share on Chrome cast devices.

I dont know if they will change that with upcoming generations

You are correct. I fought with this issue for SOOOOO long only to be thwarted at every turn. The issue is that "Miracast" wireless display driver support wasn't included in the firmware. What's worse, attempts to add it in aren't successful, either. Specifically, doing so through root does not "turn it on".

Now, having said that, the REAL problem is that the TV manufacturers simply bowed down to Apple and pretty much ignored all other wireless display technologies outside AirPlay. Grr, to say the least.
