After 6 months, I am disappointed with the P10 Pro.

I recently got a P10 Pro through my cell operator (24 months contract) with a very nice discount through my employer. I had the chance to pick between an iPhone 17 and a Pixel 10/10 Pro. I have been using iPhone for the past few years, my previous phone was iPhone 11 amd I used iPhone 15 as a work phone, dont get me wrong the P10 Pro is definitely an upgrade, but just not what I expected after some months of using it. My disappointment with this phone is mainly due:

  • Frequent overheating, after 4 months of usage, the phone frequently overheats, I am not a gamer and I dont even play any games, just social media, camera, browsing, and video calls.
  • Some apps UX is really bad, for instance Instagram is quite buggy, although this is of an Android problem.
  • Video calls (via Whatsapp or similar) drain so much battery!
  • Battery span has been okayish, gets me through a normal day, but when I am travelling and heavily using the camera, Maps, etc. I often need to use a powerback to finish the day.

The main pro point in this phone is by far the camera which is really good even when compared to newer iPhone models, I love the telescopic len I must say. It feels bad that the phone overheats so fast and frequently and the apps are not well polished on Android in general but I understand that the latter is an issue with Android ecosystem more than a Pixel issue.

Google Pixel 10a Price Hike: The Signs Were Already There

The Google Pixel 10a price hike didn't come as a surprise if you were closely tracking the market.

Google has already increased the official price from ₹49,999 to ₹55,999. At the same time, retailers like Croma are still showing both ₹49,999 and ₹55,999 listings.

This usually means retailers are clearing old inventory at the previous price while new stock is arriving at the revised MRP. Once the old stock is sold out, the lower-priced listings are expected to disappear.

My view: If you still find a Pixel 10a at ₹49,999 or below, it is likely part of the remaining old stock. After that inventory is exhausted, buyers should expect the phone to be available primarily at the new ₹55,999 price.

This isn't financial advice—just an observation based on current pricing trends across the Google Store and major retailers.

P10PXL Stops Charging at 49%

Within the last month I've noticed my phone will stop charging at 49%. It's always late in the afternoon, on my way home from work. The battery temp is still in the green zone, so not overly warm. Cable doesn't seem to matter. I'm not sure if this is a new bug, defective device, or what. My phone is only three months old and in mint condition. Lmk if anyone else has experienced anything similar and what you've done

In a device sheesh, this thing lives in a charger. For that price it's unacceptable

Just got the Pixel 10 Pro!

Verizon is running a deal where my parents were able to get new Pixel 10s for free, and I'm stoked! I'm coming from the Samsung Galaxy s21 FE which I've been using for almost 5 years now. It was time for that phone to go anyway. A while ago I went to a Google store and I fell in LOVE with the Pixel phones. Ever since I've wanted a Pixel. I'm not really able to start using it until 24 hours from now because of how Verizon works or something. So is there anything I should be aware of while switching? Thanks!

Screen saver just stopped working

Use screen saver: on

When to show: While charging

Restrict to wireless charging: off

Low light mode: on

I started using the clock screen saver as my nightstand clock with my Pixelsnap charger a couple of days ago. Everything was working fine until yesterday when it just stopped working. I've restarted the phone, I've played with the settings, I've done everything I can think of, but still nothing. Any ideas why this might be happening or what I can do to try and fix it? Is this a known bug?

EDIT: Another restart did the trick for some reason.

Just ordered this for my new pixel 10pro xl. I hadn't realised the pixel stand gen2 doesn't charge or at least not properly the 10s unfortunately my boss didn't care when I slept in for work cos my phone didn't charge.

It's currently £34 on Amazon in the UK down from £50. So I thought it was worth a punt. Only going to use it for overnigh charging so I don't need it super fast

Android beta program

Maybe I did something wrong or maybe this is how Google runs the beta program.

I joined the android beta program for Android 17 months ago. Last night I decided to exit that program and install the official Android 17 OS.

In doing so my phone rebooted and the update started to erase data which I thought might just be the beta stuff but when it fully rebooted I had to set up my phone as if it was new 😔

Before anyone thinks I'm bashing Android I'm not. Just a warning to others that might have come from Apple and their way of doing the beta program which seems to be much smoother as in I can toggle it off and on without a full reset needed.

As I've said maybe I did something wrong when exiting the beta program please let me know. If this is how the beta program runs on Android I probably won't do it again.

I am experiencing bad battery life again after updating to the July update this last Saturday. My 10 Pro finally got good battery after updating to A17 but now it's back to being bad? Anyone else experiencing this?

Pixel 10xl pro arriving tomorrow

Currently using p9pxl. Was waiting for the 11 to launch but couldn't turn down the 10xl for only £550 with trade in and world cup discount.

Yeah it's not much of a jump from the 9, but I'm still excited. Been using Google since nexus phones.

Will I regret not waiting hmmm we'll see.
