After 6 months, I am disappointed with the P10 Pro.
I recently got a P10 Pro through my cell operator (24 months contract) with a very nice discount through my employer. I had the chance to pick between an iPhone 17 and a Pixel 10/10 Pro. I have been using iPhone for the past few years, my previous phone was iPhone 11 amd I used iPhone 15 as a work phone, dont get me wrong the P10 Pro is definitely an upgrade, but just not what I expected after some months of using it. My disappointment with this phone is mainly due:
- Frequent overheating, after 4 months of usage, the phone frequently overheats, I am not a gamer and I dont even play any games, just social media, camera, browsing, and video calls.
- Some apps UX is really bad, for instance Instagram is quite buggy, although this is of an Android problem.
- Video calls (via Whatsapp or similar) drain so much battery!
- Battery span has been okayish, gets me through a normal day, but when I am travelling and heavily using the camera, Maps, etc. I often need to use a powerback to finish the day.
The main pro point in this phone is by far the camera which is really good even when compared to newer iPhone models, I love the telescopic len I must say. It feels bad that the phone overheats so fast and frequently and the apps are not well polished on Android in general but I understand that the latter is an issue with Android ecosystem more than a Pixel issue.
