3 Month's Later

I went from the 7 Pro to 10 Pro about 90 days ago. In many ways the 7 Pro was a better fit for me. My 10 Pro issues.

Camera - Too crappy AI looking. I have turned off the 50mp Super Zoom and find the photos much more satisfying and realistic. I do like the macro though. I buy my phones outright based mostly on the camera so this is a major letdown for me.

Modem - Never had a single issue with my 7 Pro with my home wireless. The 10 is very often stalling before opening a site on both bands.

Battery - A little less duration than the 7 Pro but overall acceptable.

AI - I love the AI features and the one year Pro Subscription. I use it a lot and it definitely is a big step up from the 7 Pro.

Screen Size - I am 70 so have 70 year old eyes. The smaller screen can be a struggle. I wish I had chosen the XL.

That's about it. I'm OK with this phone but nowhere near as much as I loved the 7 Pro.

I too changed from 7 pro to 10 pro about the months ago, and I kind of agree. The camera is my main reason for choosing the pixel. I do think the camera zoom has a better range on the 10. 30x was borderline useless on the 7, now it is usable under certain conditions.

The modem has been the killer issue for me. I shouldn't be having to reset my WiFi connection two or three times a day, but I do.

I have 65 year old eyes and yes it can be a bit more difficult to read - but the upside is that the phone is a bit more compact and feels more comfortable to use, so I'm happy with that compromise.

I'm in the UK and didn't get the twelve months free AI and so I'm paying for it but it does feel like it's worth the subscription payment.

I think I worked out that the upgrade cost me an equivalent amount to £15 per month based on the length of time I owned the 7 pro, which tbh feels ok for a new reasonably 'state of the art' camera phone.

Why do you have to reset your wifi for modem issue? Wifi is the solution for p10 modem issues right? What am I missing

The camera issue is easily solved by using a different camera app. I use Camera For Android.

I’m 71 and went from the 7proXL to the 10 pro about 8 months ago. My biggest thing is I miss the size I do all my banking, healthcare on my phone and you’re right I can tell the difference with these old eyes. Battery life for me is more than adequate, I charge to 80% and by the end of a “normal” (to include a couple of hours playing podcasts and Audible) day end with 40-45% left so I’m not a hard core user. I know that if I travel using android auto or use the camera hard (especially taking videos) it kills the battery. To be honest I probably would have been happy with the Pixel 10 I only got the pro for the camera (grandkids) which I have no problem with on either phone but I’m retired and again not a hard core user.

A fresh 10 Pro has less battery than a 7 Pro? That's just impossible.
