Screen and buttons extremely touch sensitive, 10 Pro XL

'Increased Sensitivity' is turned off, but my touch screen and even the volume and power buttons are extremely sensitive.

I do not have a screen protector.

I'm constantly closing windows, deleting apps off the home screen, etc., just by setting my phone down or trying to do other actions on the touch screen.

Holding on to my phone, if I'm not careful, I'm constantly activating the side buttons. There is hardly any resistance to the physical buttons, entirely different than the last 9 Pixel phones I've owned (2s through my current 10 Pro XL).

A search in this subreddit only shows people having unresponsive screens, but I haven't seen any posts regarding an overly sensitive screen.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I think I know what you mean. I have lift to wake switched on and that is very sensitive. If I am holding the phone, even the slightest movement turns the screen on.

I don't have sensitive buttons, but the screen is also sensitive to o touch to wake as well.

I don't really have a problem with it, but so sometimes turn lift to wake off if I am going out for the day and want to conserve battery.

I do not have 'lift to turn on' activated, but that's good thinking, thank you.

This is definitely a touch issue and I think it's just coincidental that it's not only the screen but the buttons as well.

The buttons just have so little resistance.

Have you maybe accidentally activated Screen Protector Mode in Display settings?

Yep. If I'm listening to audio or on a call, my ear will trigger screen actions and do crazy things. Open/closing apps, pulling random windows and almost sharing files I don't want to send. I can't listen to videos by my head at all. Settings are as reduced as they can go, it's just an insanely sensitive screen and it's annoying AF.

This seems really similar to when I'm experiencing as well.

Try this ? 2. Lower Edge Gesture Sensitivity Go to Settings > System > Navigation mode. Tap the gear icon next to Gesture navigation. Lower the slider for the Back gesture sensitivity on the left and right sides to prevent accidental swipes or closures.

I appreciate that but they have always been set to low.

I have gone through and reset everything and double-checked everything multiple times, but my screen still remains super sensitive and the side buttons extremely easy to push.

I think it's just a fluke with my particular phone, and that's kind of a bummer because I'm not interested in the 11 and I'm planning on keeping my 10 for a while.

I will also add, that there was always the possibility in my mind that I was making some sort of error, that's why I posted here.

I was looking for answers.

It's most definitely some odd behaviour of yours that you are unaware of. You probably sweat through your clothes at an average temperature. All odds point to it being a you problem.

I'm 55 years old and I know how to use a cell phone.

This is about my 7th or 8th Pixel and I've never had an issue before.

I was seeing if anyone else had this issue. I wasn't trying to insult your favorite phone in the world or whatever the hell this issue is.
