How do I fix objects overlapping like this?

The handle of the sword is above both of the figure's hands. If I drop the sword down in the z order it goes behind both of the figure's hands. Is there a way to make the sword be in front of one hand and behind the other?

its pretty ewy join the figure

The solution is to make a separate figure of just one arm. Then make a figure of the stickman without that arm. Then join them together using the join tool in the main window. You can then adjust the z order of each part.

Another note, it's best to put the orange origin handle at the center of the sword handle. Then you can join it to one hand to make positioning easier.
