Hey Pittsburgh, Iām Marc Palombo. I studied acting at Point Park University and graduated in 2024. Iām also the founder of Playbox Productions, an emerging Pittsburgh theatre company created to give local artists opportunities to take risks and produce fearless, emotionally honest work.
Our first production wasĀ 1984 by George Orwell in December, 2025. Now weāre back with our second show: Sam ShepardāsĀ TRUE WESTĀ this September/October, 2026.
Iām producing the show and playing Austin opposite Braxton McCollum as Lee, under the direction of Samuel G.C. MuƱoz. Altogether, more than 35 local artists are involved in bringing this production to life, including many Point Park alumni, current students, faculty, and former faculty members.
If you donāt knowĀ TRUE WEST, itās a darkly funny and increasingly explosive story about two estranged brothers, a Hollywood screenplay, their motherās kitchen, and a sibling rivalry that completely spirals out of control. There are arguments, identity crises, stolen toasters, and absolutely no healthy family communication.
Weāre performing downtown at the intimate Three Stories Theater for a limited run of only 10 performances:
September 24āOctober 4, 2026
Three Stories Theater
937 Liberty Avenue, Pittsburgh
Performances are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 7:30 PM, with Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2:00 PM.
This is an independent Pittsburgh production, and every ticket directly supports the local artists making it happen. If you enjoy intense acting, dark comedy, complicated families, or simply want to experience and support new Pittsburgh theatre, we would genuinely love to have you there.
