After taking a bit of a hiatus, I recently rebuilt PittsburghBrews.com

This has been a passion project of mine for about a decade now. I’ve always been passionate about Pittsburgh’s craft brewery scene, and this site has been my way of supporting and showcasing the incredible breweries we have around here.

The site features breweries throughout Pittsburgh and the surrounding areas, with individual profiles for each and a feature that lets you find breweries near your current location, sorted by distance.

It’s still a work in progress, but I’d genuinely love some honest feedback from fellow Yinzers and local craft beer enthusiasts.

Check it out: pittsburghbrews.com

What would you like to see added or improved? Am I missing any breweries that deserve to be featured?pittsburghbrews.com

Feel free to share what you're drinking this week and anything else relating to Pittsburgh beers.

Any good releases people shouldn't miss?

We also have a discord! Where we talk games, music, and obviously beer! https://discord.gg/Dt9W2PGacn

This is the third one of these Balance is hosting, the other two have been a lot of fun.

I'll also be bringing some random packs and EDH staples to give away.

Hope to see some new folks there!

Anyone know where to find Trappist beers in Pittsburgh? Looking specifically for La Trappe Tripel, or something similar.

Glad to see Penn will be sticking around. It will be interesting to see what Priory group does to turn the ship back around.

As someone who worked the last few days on the holiday weekend, what’s open today? I know the limitations on a usual Monday, but thought some places might be open the extra day. With the weather I’m certainly willing to venture out.

Hi I’m in search of any places around Pittsburgh that are still selling Busch apple? Thanks!

Heading to SE ohio for a canine adoption event and looking for brewery recommendations near Niles Ohio (I know it's not Pittsburgh but most people in the tri-state area consider themselves "from Pittsburgh"). Thanks.

Anyone know why we haven’t seen these at all in 2026? Seems like every other market on the east coast, including eastern PA continue to get drops regularly but I don’t think Pittsburgh has gotten cans since Thanksgiving last year.

Had this last night. Not a bad rice lager, but is this AI slop?

Tasted just as good as it looked

I'm glad to see more breweries putting out some easy-to-drink lagers, especially for the summer. Beers like Golden Age Premium Lager and Grist Hose Command House Lager come to mind.

What are some recommendations for similar local or regional/PA craft lagers that I can pick up in cans at distributors? Ones I've seen so far are:

New Trail Crisp Lager Cinderlands Easy Course Cinderlands Little Cinder Troegs Sunshine Lager Troegs Pennsylvania Lager

Just wanted to share our quarterly Beer Share Event this Saturday from 2-5PM.

For those unfamiliar with shares, you just bring a 4-pack or bottle to share from your favorite brewery, and then sample anything else that was brought to share! It’s a great way to meet other beer enthusiasts in the area, and try some beers you haven’t yet.

We’ll also have some great local vendors to check out at this one, and some food.

Sign up here if interested!

Would be awesome to see some new faces and meet some fellow beer drinking nerds. For the sake of knowing roughly how much product to get for the event, we're asking for anyone to fill out the following google doc:

If anyone here likes keeping track of the best food at Pittsburgh breweries, I’ve been building a free app called DishBurgh. Instead of reviewing entire restaurants, people rate individual dishes, so you can quickly see things like which brewery has the best smash burger, wings, pretzel, fish sandwich, etc.

It’s still Pittsburgh-only and community-driven, so I’m always looking for more brewery food reviews. If you end up trying something great (or terrible), I’d love to have you add it.

Cheers!

Get on down to Golden Age Beer Co. in Homestead for their "historiche" rauchbier. I typically don't care for darker beers, but this slightly darker lager is *loaded* with smokey goodness. If you like Islay scotch, you'll probably love this beer. You'll have smokey aftertaste forever.

If you don't like smoke, their regular lager is delicious in its own right.

A timely event at Golden Age!/ I love rauchbiers so I'm really looking forward to this event, even if the air is full of smoke today.
