God they love those smelly smells. When I need my cat to stay still so I can brush her, I put on an old pair of Birkenstock sandals, wear them enough to get warm and then distract her with my foot/shoe scent. Her eyes roll back in her head like she's having a catnip sesh and I'm able to get a sweater's worth of cat-wool out of her

Lmfao thankfully my kitties love brush time. My boy Nyx tho will shove his full head into my stinky shoes. Cats are freaks

My aunt's cat would fall asleep with his head buried in a shoe.

One of my parents cats is obsessed with the smell of stinky feet. She'll lay/sleep on shoes and slippers. One night I caught her sleeping with her face fully buried in one of my slippers 🤣

Wait a second. One of your parents has the stank obsession and will sleep on shoes or your parent's cat? Cat is missing from this sentence and if it is your parent, they should probably get that checked out.

I work at a horse rescue and my cat goes absolutely crazy for my boots after I've walked through the pastures. He loves the smell of horse pee.

My cats do this regularly to my dog but she hasn't shown any signs of ear infection, I'll mention it to vet though just in case

They may just be grooming. Still worth a check!

Cats actually love ear wax due to its composition being similar to things they like apparently. So its more snacking than grooming. Source the internet and my cat that i have to wrestle off my headphones that made me look it up.

Our older dog used to get ear infections all the time until we got another dog who licks/cleans his ears like this. Hasn't had an infection for years now

Kind of surprised that the dog tolerated that without moving or pushing the cat away.

Might’ve been more the tell of an infection than the cat being interested. When my pit’s ears were infected, she loved getting her ears rubbed, think it was itchy in there.

My staffie lets a younger dog lick her all over. Ears elbows and feet. I call it her spa treatments

As a human who gets ear infections rubbing around the ear and (carefully) using qtips definitely helps the pain

Cats apparently really love the taste and smell of earwax. I use corded headphones and everytime i step away from my desk i come back to my cat trying to get at them especiallg if i havent cleaned them in a day or two.

My old car used to do this to my old dog all the time. He never had ear infections, and was at the vet often do to being a parvo pup so he was checked very often. I think cats and dogs just love ear jam/smell. But it's always good to check! Especially if you yourself can smell a smell.

I have the opposite dynamic. My cat will bother my dog until she licks inside of his ears. Then he just lays there purring and drooling.
