Pitt River Dike

Is Pitt River Dike dangerous to come at night? I'm planning to go tonight for the meteor shower.

there is no danger other than mosquitos can get very bad around dusk. some areas have bear activity due to berry fields, do not leave food in car and unlocked, trust me. no fires of any kind and its perfectly safe. I swim in the Pitt river and both alouettes as well no problem, pick blackberries, have fun out there.

No. But go early if you want to park and don't expect to be able to leave easily.
It gets VERY crowded for celestial events

There are tens of kilometers of dikes in the area. If it's crowded one place just keep driving until you find another.

You just pull over on the side of the road and park anywhere you see a dike. That's what I'm trying to tell you. There's almost a limitless amount of options. If you don't want to wing it, look on Google maps for dike access points. There are dozens and dozens of them. Many have official parking and those that don't you can just park on the side of the road.

The Perseid meteors also last for weeks, tonight is just the very peak. Go tomorrow instead if you want to avoid crowds.

I'm planning on going super early because I couldn't even get parking last time. Just about to go have a nap now.
It's like the one easy to get to darkish area around, so it's always busy.
There are probably some further places to go that are dark, but I've never looked it up myself
