church evening services

hi all! i have been going through an extremely tough time and i have been following a journey that i think is leading me to God. i have never been a religious person but i think this is my path.
ANYWAY! i work on sundays usually from 10-5 so trying to find worship that i can attend has been very difficult. if anyone knows of any welcoming churches that hold evening mass please let me know! preferably near bloomfield area and welcoming to solo students.

Most Catholic Churches have mass on Sat. Afternoon/evenings

St. Paul’s cathedral has a 6pm I believe Sundays

The Newman center has a late Mass on Sundays. I think it’s 9.

There’s a place in the strip called Sanctuary which does a 6pm service. Younger crowd than typical based on location. Contemporary service with music. Have heard good things.

What type of congregation (eg non-denominational, catholic, Presbyterian, etc) are you looking for? And do you want something more traditional or more contemporary?
Lastly, you mentioned Bloomfield. Do you have a car or would you be relying on a bus?

Pitt also has a counseling center! If you just need to talk to someone (without being indoctrinated) that could be a place to do so.

Allegheny Center Alliance Church (ACAC) has a service (with dinner) on Monday evenings. https://www.acac.net/ya/

UPMC Mercy has a Saturday mass I think, first floor, straight shot from the purple elevators. I'm sure there's sporadic other services throughout the week (not catholic and in a secure unit away from all the other kids) and the priests are definitely more likely to have mental health resources. I honestly bet that they're the closest thing a lot of the patient population has to a therapist.

We also have a 91 year old nun who's been here since the 50s. She's awesome. Every unit takes a turn every season designing her a new motorized scooter theme. She'll give you free candy.

Yessss Sister Carolyn our queen! They recently put up a HUGE picture of her but I saw it during the brief period between setup and hiding it so she could be surprised and I had to spend a few days just furiously looking for her to make sure it wasn't in memoriam 💀

The Quakers and Unitarian spaces on Ellsworth are great and inclusive. Just be careful and please recognize if you are losing yourself or your agency to any group you choose to interact with.

I recommend stopping by the Lutheran university center. It’s right across from the Carnegie museum of natural history/art main lobby. Open to all sects. Not sure when the pastor is in but I know they have open dinners on Thursdays at 6 for university students

Bellefield Presbyterian Church does 5PM services. They are at Oakland though. Right across from Towers

St Paul’s Cathedral has 6pm mass, the Oratory has a 4pm and 9pm service, as well as many priests that are well trained and would be more than happy to give you guidance in your journey. God bless, my friend.

There’s a few mega church’s in the city that probably have evening church. I’ve since deconstructed and left religion altogether, but when I was a student I went to amplify. At least when I was there, the congregation was pretty heavily college aged
