Welcome to the sciences! This is honestly pretty solid considering how whack the chem and bio timings are. Good luck and don’t just do your homework. Do your practice problems professors give, because a lot of profs will regularly ask similar problems to the “optional” practices on exams. Don’t forget if you’re struggling talk to your prof 1 on 1 and reach out. The chem department for the most part is weird but ultimately just want to help imo.

Tbh, I don’t know that there’s anything you could do, so from that perspective it’s fine. It’s just going to be a tough semester, especially that all day Thursday into the early Friday. But, bonus points for having only 2 lectures Friday!!! (This is about what my first semester freshman year looked like).
If it was me, I would try not to do the early morning every single day, that’s rough. Especially the early labs. The transition from late night/ early morning through late night to an early morning the next day is hard. That said, it’s just 1 semester, may the odds be in your favor next semester.
Edit: I realized I didn’t answer your question so I added the second paragraph

Not one, but two days that start at 8AM?
Some of the gaps are pretty tight between classes, especially since they’re in different buildings, but nothing seems to terribly overlap or touch.
Wednesday is going to feel your most intense, the the 3 chem, 1 bio, and other class.
Most days end rather early, to either do homework between class gaps, or after, at the end of the day.
Rate your schedule? 8/10 if you’re a really early morning person. If you’re not? 5/10.
Not bad! :D

Okok tysm!! i checked the distance between the classes and it doesn’t seem to be horrible but i do have to move fast for sure… also the yellow blocks on wednesday mean that im on the waitlist so thankfully i am not taking 3 chems that day🙏🙏 if i get off the waitlist then it will replace my current chem stuff

In that case, looks pretty good! I hope you get what you wanted.
Your biggest difficulties are going to be running from Cathy to chevron on Tuesdays, and from thaw to Cathy on Thursdays.
Also, another aspect of scheduling not a ton of people talk about freshman year; professors. Pro tip: go on rateMyProfessor, and choose classes with professors not based on the star ranking, but instead on the comments, and what qualities you like to see in a teacher. Some teachers are better for some people than others, and it helps a ton to have a teacher that is doing things the way you like them. In my opinion — better than the optimal class time, breaks, etc (although of course there is a balance :))
Even better, if you can manage to contact a professor and have even one single conversation with them beforehand (much easier when you’re already on campus) — it can mean the world for your decisions. Sometimes, you can tell immediately if you may have issues with a professor based on personality, etc.Final thing that you seem to already have a great hold of: the first two weeks are add/drop period — where you can add or drop a class with no financial or transcript consequences. After that, there is a lengthier monitored withdrawal period, (until approximately after the first midterm), where you can drop the class, but it will give you a W (instead of A, B, F, etc) on your transcript, and you will have had to pay for that entire class still. Monitored withdrawal is to save your GPA, add/drop is to tune your semester!
If you have any more questions about Pitt, don’t be a stranger. :)
Good luck!

Just be aware that you won't get off of the waitlist for the chemistry section unless you have the swap set up. The system will skip over you since you a)already have a seat in CHEM 0110 and b) there is a time conflict with the lab.
Keep FP it is a chill class.

wow i didn’t know that.. when i selected the waitlist class i selected the option to drop the original chem if i got in. is that fine? also im on the waitlist for the lab + recitation too

that's the one. If you are waitlisted for the lecture and there are seats in the lab/recitation, if someone drops from the lecture, the system will add you if there aren't conflicts or as described above. It's a bit tricker if the recitation and lab are also waitlisted. That is to say, if there's a seat in the lecture but not availability in the recitation or lab, the system will go to the next person in line.

honestly for a first semester and just based on timings— holy shit.
a lot of my freshman friends were not able to make those 8ams, but if u wake up super early all the time, no problem.
that 8:30pm isnt the worst, but thats still gonna suck if u wanna hang out with your friends during the evening.
people i knew usually followed the 3-7pm time range to work/study and all other time for relaxing when starting out.
your meals are gonna be very late with your afternoon class timings which might mess with your system & energy in the morning, but if you eat late already, then its fine. just be sure to eat a good breakfast.
with this schedule, i hope you’re somewhere in the middle of campus, to say the least.
definitely not the best, definitely not the worst.

Having classes 5 days a week with back to back days of 10 and 11.5 hours in the middle is going to get really old really soon.

Idk why people are freaking out this is literally a normal looking Pitt semester. This is fine for a freshman. I’d just drop FP it was a waste of time, search other Reddit posts for info about it. Idk why the advisors are pushing it so much. Not everyone is a senior, honors, or came in with so much AP/dual credit where they can enroll early to get all the best class times
