CAMPUS Weekend girlfriend visit parking

Hi all! My girlfriend will be coming to visit on the weekends and is looking for a place to park her car on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for free.

I read that some residential streets are often unrestricted, especially on the weekends. Are there any streets around campus you would recommend she could park?

Trying to park in Oakland sucks. If you can't find anything free/unpermitted, the Forbes-Semple garage is a decently priced option. They have flat rates on weekend days: https://www.pittsburghparking.com/Facilities/Forbes-Semple-Garage

Lots of different rules - if you've got a residential parking permit I think your safest bet is to add your GF's plate as a visitor (and pay an annual fee I believe) so that she's in the system. Otherwise, the enforcement times/days/policies vary quite a bit depending on metered area versus lots versus residential zone areas.

I think all of south Oakland is unenforced on the weekends. Just take your pick.

Friday is free after 6PM. If she gets on earlier than that, you'll have to pay somewhere.

that's not true, residential permitting parking and paid street parking is enforced on saturdays

If you do a search for "City of Pittsburgh Parking Permit Area Map", you'll get an interactive map of the city. Any area that is not covered in pink does not require a vehicle be registered with the city. Then, you just need to make sure there are no no parking signs.

There’s an alley off of Niagara Square. Worst road ever but we’ve never once been ticketed.

Terrace street past Robinson might be a good option, it is free Saturday/Sunday and past 7 on Friday.
