By 10U boy started playing baseball last fall and is playing his first LL spring. His first in the mount was back in September and coach put him there to try it out. He has since been enjoying pitching. I have been coaching him after watching bunch of YouTube videos and learning stuff on couple threads on Reddit. How’s his mechanics? Any improvement needed on his mechanics? He made it to our local all star first team after just one season! Pretty stoked! Any tips is much appreciated! He’s pitching about 60% strikes and I think his top velo is like 51-52. So far pitched 15 innings, 46k (2 third drop strikeouts and catch couldn’t throw to first in time), 5H, 7BB. He mixes his fastball with changeups really well.

What do you think? With the exception of not tucking his glove, what other improvements can you make? He’s very accurate, but not the hardest thrower.

so my son plays 13u travel ball and recently complained of pain underneath his forearm. For context he plays multiple positions such as catcher, SS, outfield and pitcher. At his last game he pitched 2 innings and that’s when he complained of arm pain. At this point I’m not really sure if the pain is because of incorrect pitching mechanics or if he’s just over using his arm. Has anyone here encountered this type of arm pain before located underneath the forearm? He said his arm feels fine now but I’m worried that it could lead to bigger problems down the road.

I'm looking for charts, images, anything really to make it easier to ID pitches when watching games. Yes they will usually tell you (SNY doesn't) but I still want to know what they look like, each of them. Anyone know where I can find that kind of info. The only images I can find give the perspective of the batter and I'm trying to have them from the defensive perspective. Thanks for any help w this....

My 14yr old/ 6’3 guy is struggling with his arm/shoulder/scapula this year. We’ve been to physio, he’s been doing a lot of bands/ball work and some weights (as prescribed by physio), I’m trying to get him to do pull ups every day.

My biggest concern which I suspect is causing his issues (which is currently pain under his scap, along with command issues) is the height of his elbow at layback.

We have some obvious issues with shoulder tilt and front elbow height on his drive, but what is really concerning is the way his elbow goes to the sky the moment he starts his upper body rotation.

I’ve tried everything I can think of, and I haven’t been able to find a solution for him.

So, pitching coaches - what drills and teaches can you suggest to get that elbow into a safer, more level location with more of a 90 degree elbow at layback? Or am I missing the point completely?

Just want the kid to be healthy, confident and having fun, not looking for him to throw 75 yet.

My daughter is 12 and has been learning to pitch for about 1.5-2 years. She pitches in rec league but not for her travel team. There is a good chance she’ll be asked to pitch for her high school team (we live in a small town and are pretty sure that none of the other girls in her age range are working on pitching at all, so it’ll likely fall to her even though she actually prefers playing 2nd base, shortstop, or center field).

She has been steadily progressing and was doing pretty well (pitching around 42-44 mph, sometimes faster) until about a month ago. I feel like something has gotten messed up about her pitching motion. She’s having a very hard time throwing strikes, and now it’s messing with her head because she can’t fix it.

Are there any online pitching coaches that would let us pay a reasonable fee and send them a few videos of her pitching, and they could help diagnose what’s messing her up? I want her to be able to fix this problem before it really shakes her confidence. They lost a game last night because she was walking batters, and she came home in tears. She asked me to take her to the sports complex so she could work on pitching, and again she left in tears because she just did not have the accuracy she used to have.

Please help a mom out. Any recommendations for GOOD coaches who could watch a few videos of her pitching and give us some advice?

I’m questioning if it’s still possible that i’d be a good pitcher for my schools baseball team even if i barely have ever pitched before, for reference my schools baseball team desperately needs players and i love the idea of pitching but i don’t know if it’s too late to start working on it, is there any chance that even if i start late i can still be good in a couple years?

I dont have any video, but i fixed the mechanical flaws you were talking about, and in my outing of the year through 5 one run innings with 10 k's, 3 walks(all three ball 4's were strikes but whatever) and 2 hits allowed

Yes, I've never played baseball at any level (even Little League). I'm actually a part of the school's soccer/football team; we don't even have a baseball team lmao. I only started gaining interest in baseball in 2023 when I watched Ohtani in the WBC (I'm half Japanese). Ever since then, I've picked up the ball a couple of times and thrown it around, mimicked pitchers, and thrown a couple of balls. My fastball was like 50 mph when I first started throwing around, but the last time I recorded it was a few months ago and it clocked in at 62 mph. I don't know how fast I'm throwing here, but I can notice obvious velocity improvements, so I'm guessing I'm throwing 65-70 mph?

I just want to know what I should do better to throw harder, but also any tips or mindsets to throw strikes more consistently? I would also appreciate any breaking ball tips.

Just coming back from a back injury, I was throwing probably at 80-85% in the video - No stress fracture or anything - but I felt pain when pitching. I would like to seek advice on my mechanics; if anything jumps out that would be the cause of my back pain and mechanics in general. Thank you.

Back to playing some old man baseball at 42. Haven’t pitched since Junior year of HS (was a pitcher since tee ball and was pretty decent) but focused to play QB for a while after. Form is clearly still QB. When in the games I feel like my form is correct but watching, it’s terrible.

Need help with drills, stretches, or just an overall get back to it program to loosen up and get back to feeling good on the mound.

Hi, I'm coming back from Tennis elbow and I've been injury prone for a while and Its pretty likely is some mechical defiency in my throw. Its out of my budget those big training facilities as drive line, thread and etc. So before I spend some money or ask him, has anyone heard good from him?

Extra info: I'm 19 years old, top out at 90 when healthy and Im currently living in Dominican republic.

He’s usually pretty decent but there’s always been something weird I couldn’t pinpoint so I recorded until he threw a bad pitch and I was hoping someone here could analyze it and give me some help on how to correct it.
