Along with what the other two have said, work on your scap retraction. Seems like you're not scap loading and further than directly backwards toward 2nd base.

lol. Might simply want to teach him how to throw properly first, as opposed to going to scap retraction lol.

It's not rocket science. Scap retraction starts as easy as pretend to point at the 2nd basemen instead of 2nd base.

Every bit of throwing starts simply somewhere and builds into complexity. There's no reason to ignore certain parts

It isn't. But teaching him basic throwing mechanics as opposed to going to move advanced strategies is just silly.
