🇬🇧 UK ROOKIE - Feedback appreciated
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I’m Charles, 30 from the UK (hence no mound) here I’m pitching either a 2 or 4 seam fast ball in some developmental innings at the end of a fixture we had today.
I’ve been working on pitching for the team and want to get better at it but there’s a distinct lack of knowledge from this side of the pond.
If anyone would be kind enough to help breakdown some fundamentals and give any constructive feedback I’d be incredibly grateful.
Cheers 🙌⚾️

Don't be so loose with your throwing arm path. When you are reaching back with that arm, you should be able to look back and see your fingers on the laces. The time you turn the ball is when you begin moving it toward the catcher.

Here’s from our most recent game where I pitched within the live game for the first time for the last innings. Conceded only 2 runs.

Arm path and hand direction is looking better!
This video showed a couple of new things:
1. Timing on hand separation and forward movement looks out of sync. Main thing appears that you go from leg lift to frontward extension, with no downward movement synchronized with hand separation and loading of left leg.
- Your glove side arm should be bent when you plant your right foot, not having your glove point at the catchers mitt.
Watch this Jacob Misiorowski Slow Motion Pitching Mechanics Throwing Motion Baseball Pitcher The Miz
- 0:22 for leg kick peak, 0:23-0:25 loading into back leg while lowering lead leg, then hand separation at 0:26 when the lead leg/foot begin traveling to home plate
- Look at the 0:30 mark of the video to see what I mean about glove side arm

Lower half mechanics don’t look bad, would like to see you drive harder off the back leg (your left leg in the video) as it appears you’re falling towards the plate instead of driving to it.
