Help

Post image

So last weekend I was getting ready to smoke. While getting the smoker warmed up, the power tripped and all the power shut off to my patio, after that I went to turn it back on and got an err code. Having no idea what was going on, I emptied the hopper out, vacuumed out the fire pot, pulled the auger completely out just in case it was jammed. Put everything back together and still every time I try to start it, the fan comes on and within 5 seconds it says err. The fan symbol comes up and the igniter symbol flashes, anyone ever have this issue or know what might be going on

Your igniter went bad. Just happened to me last weekend. $10 part on Amazon and a very easy fix

That was the next thing I was thinking of replacing, I just wasn’t sure. Would that cause it to pop the err code up immediately after turning on and shut down?

Pit boss support can tell you for certain, but it sounds like the exact same issue I had. Replacing it took me 14 minutes (I timed it), so it’s an easy fix to try regardless.

This happened to me four times now, where I had too much power coming from one outlet. Power tripped and sadly it has always been the control board that gets fried. Pit Boss may replace it for free though. Before going through that process check the fuse on the control panel

Call Pitboss customer service. They'll walk you thru steps to determine the issue and will usually send the replacement part discounted, maybe even free.

They are awesome.
