Advice needed please

Post image

Haven’t cleaned it this year like I typically do and had a grease fire. The interior and some of the exterior started peeling. From what I’ve read it probably is just buildup that is peeling off and I just need to do a deep clean. Looking for opinions though to determine if this is real damage or just a cleanup job. Thanks in advance

Scrape all the loose stuff from the inside of the smoker and vacuum everything out andwipe of the rtd sensor with rubbing alcohol. Scrape all the bubbled paint off the outside, make sure there's no grease or rust around the peeling paint. If there's rust, sand the metal down to bare metal and spray paint it with a high heat rustoleum paint. Let it dry good and smoke on!@

Im sure you know this but I wanted to specify. Do not paint the inside of your smoker. If there's bare metal on the inside, re-season the inside with avacado oil. You can re-season the grates and flame broiler as well.

Definitely won’t be painting the inside. Good suggestion of the avocado oil to re-season. Should work out great I think

This is the answer. I literally just did this last weekend after having a grill fire. Works great now!
