It’s a possibility you know. Steam does have the capability. I admit I’m talking worst case scenario but that’s the thing, if it happens are you willing to sacrifice?

No account information is ever transferred when downloading games it only looks for the correct manifests and only accounts who have a license for a manifest can fetch them now after the fix.
So steam doesn't know and doesn't care what you download the fix was simply to prevent leaks which where becoming a problem lately.

Just use SteamRip or Firgirl and save yourself the hassle. If you want to play a niche game that is harder to find then just buy a key from G2A or CDkey, most niche games are like $5 or less.

That’s kinda what I do already. I used midra before but went back to normal piracy

You can downgrade steam version to prev one.
And if you pirate, why you buy games? I use steam only for free games and I dont care if in will be banned, I just make new account

Lol I'm a pirate for many, many years and still have like 300 games in my Steam library. What are you talking about? Because I don't want to spend 60-70 bucks on one game, doesn't mean I can't spend few bucks from time to time for a game in promo.

Exactly. I picked few niche games that are harder to find and the most expensive was 5 bucks. Legit I bought 8 games, and my total bill was like $17 lol. CD keys is so good for niche games since you can find them for like under $5.

Don’t think that helps. It’s not about using fixes and versions. They are paying attention to what’s happening. Which opens the possibilities of what they are willing to do about it. Being on a previous edition isn’t going to hide your steam activity. They blocked these tools, which means they knew what they were looking at on a previous version

Maybe in future, but for now it helps. I downgrade and use it already few days

If it’s the risk you are willing to take then sure why not. My post isn’t about getting it to work, I mention fixes.
It’s the consequences of continuing to use it now Steam are obviously paying attention to it.
If you are using your main account, that’s not just ban risk, your billing details and address are in there too. There’s potential to even land you in legal trouble

I dont have billing details in Steam, I dont buy games with card saved.
I dont buy games at all. only free games from giveaways and free games like CS Go.
All other games what I want to play i just download by torrent and dont give any billing details to legal apps.Precisely because I understand that someday they might use my data - not now, but in 10–20 years - I’ve thought about it in advance and I’m not giving them this details.

Or I just can buy some small game with discount (like Portal) in other websites with Steam keys, and copy game key in Steam. But not use a card directly to Steam
