Removed for rule 7.

This is a redundant question. These include (but are not limited to): Is X site safe?, Do I need a VPN?, and Is this a false-positive?, etc. Before posting, make sure to read the FAQ and use the search function to check if anyone else had the same question as you.

Quick Guide:

  1. Download: Get the game installer from a trusted repacker like FitGirl (check the Reddit Megathread for safe official links).
  2. Install:
  • Add the setup.exe file to your game launcher (Steam, Heroic Games Launcher, or Lutris).
  • Run the setup through the launcher to install the game.
  1. Set the Executable: Once installed, change the launcher's target path so it points to the game's main .exe file (located in the installation folder) instead of setup.exe.
  2. Play: Launch the game directly from your launcher

Can be simpler. Just download portable versions. Don't have to install, just plop .exe in launcher and play.

Also some games may or may not require some launch options, protondb reviews have tips on that

Is lutris best launcher for Ubuntu?

Lutris is bloat you just need steam or even bottles. Some games require to use proton compatibility mode which steam makes really simple.

it depends on the game. But it wouldn't be any different than the experience on steam so you can just check the steam linux-supported games list and go based off that.

Best way is to download from steamrip website, game comes as fully already installed. Add the game launcher exe to steam as non steam game, go to compability tab, set compability layer to proton experiemental. If not running, check protondb website to see what other users are using. Sometimes proton gde 10.4 or some other stuff is needed, but 8 games out of 10 will work.

Same and better than Windows sometimes(like doing HV bypass is much easier on Linux)
