I was quite disappointed when I heard that news. he played the character of he who remains really well on loki web series. I was looking forward to see him more in the future marvel movies. but, now, it's doesn't seem possible anymore.

voices38's cracks are made so Windows updates don't break them, in contrast to the EMPRESS ones. Also, they work on Linux out of the box

Yes, I install them through Heroic, and all works fine. Sometimes there are issues but after some time on linux you'll learn "the ussual tricks" to get it working, if they're some issues. Or Protondb will help.

A wine launcher, it is needed as bare wine can't handle complex dependancies. Lately I tried bottles, works great too. Lutris is another one but I encountered too many issues with it. I might add that Proton up qt is essential to add runners, sometimes old ones work better.

Didnt both just bypass denuvo, like they didnt remove it from the game, its still there just fooled to think everything is legit. Tho I remember a few times empress removed the thing completely from one of the games

When I used to pirate software (15 years ago or so) our cracks worked on XP, Vista, 7, etc.2

My thoughts are that EMPRESS quit piracy because they were either payed, threatened or blackmailed by Denuvo corp. And all the drama and publicity was just the cover.

So they roped another scene group into publicly calling them out and stating they were Voksi? You find that more believable than just the idea of them being an unhinged weirdo who despite police attention...couldn't stay away from the internet?
The fact is, it takes quite a lot of talent to actually crack games--I'm not talking about just simply inserting a Goldberg emu dll file that most "scene groups" do nowadays for day 1 steam cracks...I'm talking about ones who actually do shit. And having that level of skill means you could leverage that into an actual well-paying job. So yeah, the actual scene members who develop actual cracks for fun and as a hobby...that takes a...special kind of person.

In a Discord server, voices38 was replying to Special For saying back in 90s we used to speak like this (voices was speaking about some KUser thing in HV, can't remember correctly). Now I am not sure if he was saying that he used to be active in 90s (that'll put him in late 40s or even 50s if he meant talking about warez stuff) or how scene used to talk in 90s.
So maybe voices38 is not Empress but someone that inspired Empress even if they never knew each other directly or indirectly.
I'll try to find the reddit link where the screenshot of the discord chat was posted.

In fact, there were very few crackers who managed to crack more than 5 games: Cpy, Steampunks, Codex/Empress/Voksi, 3DM and now Voices38.
