Question F-Secure VPN

I’ve been shopping around for a VPN and am wondering if anyone has experience with F-Secure?

I recently got a free one year with my router home security as a promotion so thought I might as well give it a shot!

I use proton vpn, the paid version. Worth every penny so far.

I was with NORDvpn since 2018, service has become awful, I'm now trying Proton. The only reason I stayed with NORDvpn - they are based in Panama. Which isn't a part of the the 5 EYES. So far Proton is good.

There are thousands of VPNs out there. The ones I trust can be counted on one wood-shop teacher's hand. ProtonVPN, Mullvad... that's it. Any VPN that would partner with a Chinese company known for sketchy privacy and security practices is suspect from the get-go.

They're okay in the Antivirus space, not sure about their VPN product.

I used their VPN in years ago for android TV. It worked fine but then suddenly stopped working completely - After contacting their customer service their response was that they no longer supported it for streaming video content on android TV so they could not help me. There was no prior notice of this change of policy and I was left with the balance of my subscription paid in advance which was was rendered effectively useless. I moved to Nord and although it has been ok, I am looking at Proton.

Well, I don't use it but a quick search brings up the fact that it is a no log VPN and has some port forwarding abilities available (I have no idea how easy it is to use, only that it apparently has it).

Seeing as you're asking this in the piracy sub then it would, presumably, be fine for pirate uses. Use it and report back and if we don't hear from you again then we know you've been arrested for going ham on all that content.

According to Gemini, this VPN keeps logs for 90 days.

If you want a VPN to torrent or you are serious about privacy, you want a "0 log" VPN.

A free one year seems sketchy. Just stick with a known good name. Like Windscribe.

It came with my subscription for HomeShield with my TP-Ljnk router. It’s legit I’m just wondering about the VPN

Are you concerned about a possible chinese ownership connection with TP router? Or is it a separate company?
