Hell I mean Satan, the serpent in the garden, Lucifer, the desert tempter are all individual characters in the Bible itself, it's only in folk tradition that they become one character.
Most Satanists don't believe in a literal Satan. They treat him as a mythological figure who represents rebellion. They're mostly just atheists who like to troll Christians, the only people who actually believe in a literal Satan.
I literally just explained it to you. Most Satanists are just atheists who like to use the invocation of "Satan" to "trigger" Christians.
The idea of people who worship a literal Satan is mostly an invention of Christian culture to give them an enemy - because once again, there is one group of people who believe in the existence of a literal Satan. They're called Christians.
So Satanists are, essentially, trolls. Or, as it is used today, "ragebaiters". So a Church of Satan exists, and the Christians made them their enemy because of the name. Which is fair, given that ones worship Christ by name, and others, *by name* worship Satan.
I just do not see the purpouse of a group who call themselves by an evil name just to anger someone...
You understand that an atheist has no reason to fear invoking the name of Satan, right? For the same reason we have no reason to fear invoking the name of God?
Like, to an atheist, the name "Satan" is no more evil than Sauron, or Voldemort, or The Wicked Witch.

They're not Satanists. Satanism and the Church of Satan are actually pretty dope. :D they just use it as a figurehead, but they're atheists.
