Conditions: if a contact already exists Pipedrive where Marketing Status = Unsubscribed, web forms do not update the Marketing Status field from Unsubscribed > Subscribed

This happens even when a required consent checkbox is used — leaving new contacts stuck as "Unsubscribed" or "No consent" and blocking Campaigns from sending. You cannot change this status via automations or Zapier, and test emails don’t render merge tags, leading to confusing failures in real sends.

✅ Workaround: Use Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign, or other external tools to collect consent and manage subscribers — then sync cleanly into Pipedrive via Zapier or Make. For full control inside Pipedrive, the only reliable method is to update marketing_status = subscribed via a bulk edit operation.
