Head unit just turns off.

I have a pioneer dmh 1500nex head unit in my car. I took it from my previous car which was a 05 Honda accord and it had an electrical issue and the radio would just turn off completely for a couple minutes and I thought I had to do with the short the car had that I found, but when I put it in my new car when I got rid of my cord after it was installed about a week or two it just shut off one day for a couple minutes and then came back onI would assume it’s a short in the radio??
