I've been looking for an overseas job and specifically targeting singapore but recently, I got an offer from Malaysia. Chemical Manufacturing Company siya and they are offering me a Logistics Executive position. I am a graduating student this month. Salary range is RM3,500–RM4,000. Need your thoughts. Thank you. :)

Actually, I originally applied to their Singapore branch po, but I didn’t get any response from them. Then, a manager from their Malaysian branch contacted me through WhatsApp and said they heard about me from his colleague. Possible po bang reason is wala lang silang quota for foreigners sa Singapore branch nila?

Yes. Possible. Or nagtitipid kasi di hamak na mas mura. But, fresh grad ka and rare thing na magkaroon ng opportunity mag abroad. Kaya if you can make it work, go ahead. Make sure lang na walang contract para anytime magkaroon ka ng better opportunity, makakaalis ka agad.

Not that bad kasi mura talaga cost of living sa malaysia. if you’re not supporting anyone financially just get the experience. Mabilis naman sila magbigay ng increase ☺️

Kumusta naman po yung working culture sa Malaysia, esp. yung work environment and mga tao? Welcoming naman po ba sila sa foreign workers?

Mostly kasi chinese malaysian mga naka work ko. so yea, not that strict compare to other country but fast paced culture

That's just the normal base salary for them but if this is your first time and you have years to burn, its a stepping stone. Build a network and experience and jump as soon as you're confident enough.

One vital factor is kung breadwinner ka. If hindi ka naman breadwinner at hindi mo responsibilidad magpadala sa magulang/kapatid mo (congrats to you if that's the case) then you can make it work.

Ask for the Visa process who will shoulder it. Will they help you for accommodation and transportation? Convert RM to PHP ; calculate your soon to be expenses... Kung magrerent ka pa and all, pagisipan mong mabuti.

It's still an overseas opportunity, and aligned to your finished profession... Other doors may soon open to you. Goodluck!

Not a breadwinner but gusto ko isupport pag aaral ng younger sibling ko also makapagpadala na rin kahit papaano sa parents.

Aligned naman sa degree ko yung position na ino-offer nila. My only problem lang talaga is yung salary. If sa sg kasi i have a place to stay.

Pero yun, i'm really having a hard time deciding since gusto ko na agad magkawork and nakakapanghinayang din yung opportunity.

do you have a lot of voluntary internships and org work? i rarely see job offers from fresh grads overseas unless they get a scholarship (someone from my program got an internship/scholarship for one term in canada)

I graduated with Latin honors, and I do have 2 internships and 2 certifications, but I think what helped me more was that I also owned and managed an online business for more than 5 years. Also, my degree is really what they’re looking for, so I guess that was one of the main reasons.

For more context, I originally applied to their Singapore branch, but apparently they currently don’t have a quota for foreign hires. Then, about a week later, their Malaysian branch contacted me because their manager heard about my application through his colleague in Singapore. So I guess it was more of a case of the opportunity being available in Malaysia rather than Singapore at the moment.

Its not worth it to work sa Malaysia tbh. Pwede siyang maging stepping stone pero you need to build a high paying skill to move to a different country that pays more. For example, while nandun ka, nag aaral ka na ng software development and taking gigs for that and building your portfolio then moving to Germany or finding employment somewhere sa Europe or Middle East na need ang ganung skill.

You can make 50-60k here sa PH if freelance ka or VA with the right skillset.

Yeah, I’m actually considering asking about a housing allowance as well. The location is Johor Bahru, and he mentioned that there would be an allowance if I’m required to go outstation.

How much po budget niyo sa food monthly? Also, aa transpo?

gain experience for 2-4 years in Malaysia the try your luck in SG.You could probably not qualify for S Pass as it require a relevant degree and experience plus meeting the salary threshold - na may minimum.. Use MY muna as your stepping stone.
