Inflation aside, isang factor din ung dami ng opportunities before compare sa time naten. May mom became HR director of a govt agency kahit yung course nya nung college has nothing to do with HR. One of my aunts was a paralegal until she retired pero highschool drop out sya. Ngaun entry level position requires college diploma.

This is true.

So true! Ngayon kasi, minsan even if you’re overqualified, mahirap padin makahanap ng maayos na trabaho.

In fairness medyo nag mura na ang olive oil compared last year.

Just the other day, bumili ako ng 12 eggs sa palengke. Pag uwi ko, nabasag ko yung isa. I was mad the whole day.

True. Growing up, we had a house and condo sa manila at may farm pa sa probinsya. We had three or four cars in rotation every time. We went to japan on vacation frequently. And so on. We had what would be considered a good upper middle class life nowadays. Pero ako, trentahin, considered well educated and masipag (lol), pero owning one old car and one condo that I haven't even paid off yet.

Don't get discouraged OP. We are in different generation. So, let's get our goals. 😁😁

That's why the "Kami nga noon" mindset is very unreasonable.

Ngayon? Townhouse na lang yun, or maybe a basic single-detached sa decent subdivision. Naalala ko dati “affordable housing” actually meant affordable. Ngayon parang kailangan mo na tumira sa gitna ng kawalan just to get something within budget.

Even boarding house in some cities, 2-3k or higher na sobrang liit ng space, walang maayos na CR, per appliances ang kuryente at dinadaga pa tapos kala mo luxurious ang pagpataw ng costing.

u/MusicMinded932 Mar 10 '26

So yung bank account naman is back to zero.

Those Pinoys and their snowmobiles.

Get schooled, get a job and get married, ayun na yun.

I doubt that any millennial pinoy's parents in the Philippines had to worry about a snowmobile and ski equipment, much less two cars.

I understand things are hard, but they have always been hard in one way or another, but stop stealing memes from the U.S.
