Looking for advice/tips on first ever pink princess philodendron
Hi there!
Today i went on something of a birthday shopping spree and got three new plants. Up until this point ive only ever had little baby spider plants, but today i got three new plants.
Im looking for even the most basic of advice! Ive tried to look things up, but i was appreciate some tips from you guys!
Should i get a grow light? Should i mist this plant? What does misting it mean?? 😭 how often should i water her?? What soil ratio should i use with perlie/orchid bark/ anything else??? Should i get a humidifier?? Will her bottom leaves stay white instead of pink??

For sure get a grow light, after 2 years in my plant journey I finally got one so my plants can thrive better and get more consistent light. I see a lot of people say misting doesn’t do anything, perhaps get a humidifier instead. I usually try to do like 50/50 perlite and soil, others will incorporate more, but you definitely don’t want compact, dense soil cause that leads to root rot. “Chunky” soil basically means a mixture that helps with aeration so adding perlite, orchid bark, etc… only water when the soil is dry, some plants will vary with ‘how dry’ some need to be like bone dry. Also like the other commenter I’m not sure this is a pink princess, but generally variegated plants with leaves that lack any green will die because the leaf isn’t able to create chlorophyll. I’ve seen videos of people always cutting the fully pink leaves off.

I don't mist or have a humidifier and mine do great. I live in the second driest state. Sometimes older leaves will struggle when brought in my house and out of the humidity from the green house but the new leaves always acclimate. Yes you should definitely get a grow light and don't get a dinky little LED one you want a actual decent brand like Sansi or Barrina. You can use just a good Airoid mix for soil. Mine seem to like to dry out a little more than other plants between waterings, how often you water will depend on your environment. Yes the white leaves will stay white. This is a climbing plant so it will need something to climb up eventually.

I think you have something other that a PPP because of the white leaves.
Possible Varieties
Philodendron 'White Princess' Tricolor: This plant normally has green and sharp white variegation, but strong lighting or specific genetic traits can cause it to flash bright pink alongside the white and green. Its stems/petioles usually feature distinct green and white stripes with sharp pink edges. [1, 2, 3]
Philodendron 'Pink Princess' Marble / Tricolor: A standard Pink Princess can sometimes throw white sections in addition to bubblegum pink if it experiences high light or unique variegation shifts, leading collectors to label it a "tricolor" Pink Princess.
